I don't think they can play the 3rd place finishers (Germany or Argentina) because they finished 2nd in their group. It's basically Italy or Slovenia-Spain loser.

This Spain-Slovenia game gonna be interesting. I think Italy gotta be the hope for the first game because Spain or Slovenia for your first game in the knockout round is

Teams qualified for the Final Phase of the tournament will be divided into two pots:

• Pot D is comprised of the three winning teams of the three Group Phases, along with the second-placed team with the best result from the Group Phase.*
• Pot E is made from the two remaining second-placed teams from the Group Phase, along with the two third-placed teams from the Group Phase.*

Now, onto the draw principles:

• Each game pairing will have one team from Pot D and one team from Pot E
• Teams from the same the Group Phase cannot be drawn against each other in the Quarter-Finals
• The second-placed team from the Pot D cannot be drawn against the third-placed teams from the Pot E.
