Draymond is the best passer on the team and pretty much the only player actively setting other guys up, and he's playing good defense too. Since Draymond is the best passer and interior defender on the team, it would OBVIOUSLY not be better to replace him with some random player. Gobert was in the middle breh, his presence was a clear problem for them. And some of the shots they missed were straight bunnies.

USA from midrange outside key: 1-11

USA inside key but not at rim: 9-14 (nearly all of those were Adebayo and KD)

USA at rim (within circle): 5-12


USA was 8-10 inside the key in the 1st quarter when they were getting a bunch of fastbreak points. The rest of the game they went just 6-16 in the key.


France went 1-7 from 3pt and committed 6 turnovers in the first quarter, leading to a bunch of USA fastbreaks. Once they cut down on that, there WERE no easy buckets for anyone on the team under 7'. They weren't making the bunnies and they were getting good looks from 3pt and midrange but weren't making those either.

But KD told me that Rudy Gobert shouldn't be winning DPOY because he can score on him easy.

The Lytics say Gobert is one of the greatest defenders to ever play.

dray is basically the only reason this team can switch at all dude is covering for everyone on our perimeter and still our only consistent inside defensive presence. he's earned his check

we got guys who are accepted as the best scorers on the planet who can't hit open shots and are terrified to do any sort of work that isn't a shytty iso shot between the 3pt line and the painted area
