The reason why they lost ain't got shyt to do with them shooting 3s.

France literally came back in the third quarter and took the lead when they were hitting 3s (they hit FIVE 3s in the third quarter, outscoring USA in that period by 14 points), and when they lost the lead, they came back in the 4th quarter hitting timely 3s. Essentially, France won that game hitting the 3ball when it mattered most.

The difference was, France was moving the ball and running actions to get quality shots, whereas USA were settling for ISOs.

USA:

30% on midrange shots.
47% equiv. on three-point shots.
