That situation is rather weird as both sisters have competed on the US side for more than one occasion, yet the loophole potentially allows them to play for their home country. If they said no, then I could totally understand why as you'd have situations where players could jump ship to another country if they aren't good enough to make the cut with their original team.

I believe the appeal has to be heard by Sunday as that's when the Final Roster is set. They want to play on a provisional basis until FIBA responds to the appeal, but that potentially screws Nigeria over if they say a final no, which leaves them 3 players short a few days before the Olympics.

Them losing the other night in the All Star game should have been a red flag, but no one paid attention to it. It literally was like the US Mens Olympic team losing to the select players.

Nah, not true. Almost all of the WNBA All-Stars could easily be on Team USA.

USA Basketball's selection committee decided to add the dinosaur fossils of Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi to the team because of favoritism and "legacy" (they both have a chance to win 5 gold medals). Arike Ogunbowale, Courtney Williams or even Nneka should be on Team USA. Sue Bird is washed, made too many turnovers in the game today against Australia and she rarely looked to score the basketball.

Team USA will still easily win Gold Medal #7 but they need to get it together quickly.

I was gonna ask a couple weeks ago is Sue Bird still even good after I saw she put up a bullshyt shot for the Seattle Storm in the final seconds of a game vs Las Vegas. It seems like her profile/brand is much bigger now compared to when she was in her prime, I don't remember her being in all these commercials and on late night TV back when she was elite.
