Moving the goalposts, a shytty strawman argument, and no real coherent response to my simple statement of "I really don't understand how corporate and right wing dems getting smoked by the GOP has anything to do with progressives."

This is truly a prime @the cac mamba post. Well done, you're on your game today
alright breh. i'll let you get back to wishing you lived in sweden or cuba :salute:

Self inflicted huh? Y’all the ones that lost VA right? As if the Dempublican party didn’t pour jelly all over themselves by antagonizing ETs at large. fukk America and fukk the politics of the country. Supporting Biden and anyone with him is akin to supporting the slaughter of your family back home. We done with establishment Dums. Centrist Moderate Biden fukkboys stay mad as fukk about it fukk y’all nikkaz :russ:

Biden the opps. The moment the Dems disown him and his bytchmade homies we back cool. Until then, watch ETs turn red as fukk. Mind you, they dumb to turn GQP but I totally understand why. AND many of the older ones have trauma from the Communist era. fukk around and turn em into the Black version or Miami Cubans.
we gonna have to sit down and break injera over this :ohhh: i cant let yall go down this road

Too liberal to the average person and what progressives actually believe is a bit different though. Not saying you're not right, but I bet you 100 bucks that the people being asked are thinking of culture issues like Trannies in bathrooms and CRT, regardless of the actual definition of it. They arent upset about Medicare for all or 15 min wage.

Yep.

Liberal, socialist, left, conservative, radical, progressive, etc. are just branding buzz words to people who don't know or follow politics or political theory and history for the most part. They generally have little if any association to their traditional definitions. You corner any of these people into defining why a particular figure fits that description and their brain malfunctions.

Take a look in some of the political threads in TLR to see this play out in real time. :francis:

That is all true, but Dems don't care. Because they got called 'too liberal,' I can almost guarantee they use it as an excuse to pull back on their economic agenda, despite it polling at 60+%, because progressives were the ones fighting for it.

"Oh, another Republican won by appealing to white grievance and culture wars? I guess that means they don't really want lower drug prices or hearing aids. Better just focus on the corporate-giveaway roads and bridges bill. :lupe:"

The media, corporate Dems and shilibs have already been blaming progressives for holding BIF 'hostage' despite them conceding on nearly every issue.

All that tells me is that Juan does like zero research into anything and that the Dems need to stop allowing conservatives and the MSM to control the narrative

This isn't directed at you per say, but I've been on the phone with extended fam since yesterday and a common topic that has been coming up is how the Dems have somehow become the face and voice of the "educated elite" and it will backfire.

The fact is most Americans are alike in the sense; we put in our 40-50 hours at work, spend time with friends/family, sports, ect. I'm not sure where we as a party get off on the idea that people can, should, or would, spend their few hours that they have researching incredibly complex and nuanced industries. The vast majority of people don't have the intellectual compacity, drive, or time to really do that anyway. At any given moment there are what? 4-5 hot political topics, which are constantly being churned to a new 4-5 every few weeks? Some topics may be more cut and dry than others; Abortion versus government spending. I'm not sure where you lie in regards to an "appropriate amount of expertise needed" to make an "informed call"; some believe that a few hours or research or 10,000 hours - but shyt I typically won't comment on anything foreign affairs related because that's a sector I think the barrier of entry is so damn high.

And most who do do research, usually just end up doing a form of confirmation bias in which they select sources, articles, and studies reaffirming their already made up minds :pachaha:.

This became somewhat of an off topic tangent to your post; but overall I’m saying I’m not sure why you expect Juan to have an informed opinion about anything, let alone inflation, a subject in which people who have dedicated their lives too still debate.

Dems needs better branding, more simple and too the point, and control the narrative.

As for the MSM. It’s my train of thought, and pretty much all business/marketing/mba classes that you cater to the preferences of your prospective customers - not the other way around. Can there be influence? Yes. But only exasterbatting an already underlying trend.

it's why trumpism without trump is a winner :yeshrug:

i mean what is trumpism really, except a bunch of dumbed down, digestible catch phrases, that somehow the dems just can't or won't say :dead:it's political fast food

-america first
-low gas prices
-strong military
-no illegal immigrants
-there's men, and there's women. not 50 genders
-capitalism is good
-cut taxes
-freedom from mandates

from an objective standpoint, who doesnt that appeal to :dead:

now ask yourself if anyone on The Squad has ever said one of those talking points :laff:
It's cosplay nationalism. Black Rifle Coffee is another example.

They don’t even care about gettin played by the GQP they got revenge on they mind. This shyt goes back to Obama frfr, although it really should go back to Clinton and W. Bush too. :ehh:

They gon realize foreign policy is hardly partisan if they go too far right :russ: :francis:

They couldn't even pass shyt when the house and senate was in the bag:mjlol: Talking about "we still got this":mjcry:

He's not wrong.

I agree with every point made in here about how Dems fumbled the ball, but even if McAuliffe had won we'd still have a bunch of terrible 'Dems in Disarray'/'Republicans will take the House back' takes, unless it was at least a 15-point blowout.

And if you don't believe me, go back and look at all the :trash: takes after the California recall. :francis:

The filibuster is Chekhov's gun.

It’s been there the entire time just waiting for Dems to pick it up so they can inevitably be disarmed by an attacker and murdered with it.

They should leave it alone. The average voter is not punishing the Dems for failing to remove the filibuster. You cannot rule change your way out of a showdown with the white nationalist gatekeepers.

I disagree.

And it's less that they're punishing Dems for not removing the filibuster specifically. But I certainly bet that at least on some level, voters will punish Dems for preserving the filibuster over passing their own agenda.

For God's sakes, they won't even do a carveout for voting rights, when doing nothing about it screws them out of power, and Republicans wouldn't vote for even Manchin's watered down voting rights bill.

At some point, Democrats need to play to win, or they can just keep losing.
