Why even sign a guy who even needs to "work his way back"? We can do better than that can't we?
If they signed a SP who had the exact same career as Noah but never played for the Mets you would not be enthusiastic about it.

I think its safe to say that Noah's been dominant. If healthy, he's a top of the line starter. Depending on who they bring in to round out our rotation.. this could be a bad look. Like.. if we let him walk in order to bring back a Rich fukkin Hill on a 2 year deal.. I got issues with that.

He said being a Met was priority and they made him a qualifying offer. I don't think they need to go above and beyond for an often injured pitcher who has been getting progressively worse over the years. I won't lose any sleep.

Fair enough.. but will you lose sleep if we go into the season with a rotation of

deGrom

Hill's a free agent... sub in Walker though

That's not a good rotation after Carrasco and we have no idea what to expect from deGrom or Carrasco.

I'm on team blow it completely up:yeshrug:

What's that mean trading DeGrom, Alonso for prosepects? They are not doing that.

I know they're not going to rebuild, but there are too many holes and they're not going to plug them all.

Who do you trust health or performance wise in the starting rotation?
Who do you trust offensively? Pete meh, Nimmo (health), and maybe Lindor, and only because you paid him 300 mill?
Who do you trust in the bullpen?

Stroman's value just shot up and I don't see them paying him either.

The Mets will contend like they did this year unless they do some magic deals and bring in some talent.

I’m not mad about Thor walking away.

Don’t like the new GM signing. Feels like relevancy is slipping further away.

Degrom getting old and injury prone
Pete is ok
Lindor who knows
The rest don’t excite

Probably a long season ahead

Rotation wise they need like 2 SPs.
Bullpen wise I want a new closer and you know guys come and go below that but I'm fine with the rest.
Offensively they need 2 corner OFs and a 2B and 3B. But that's dependent on getting rid of Davis, Smith, McNeil who I wouldn't mind trading.
Mets were 3rd highest in payroll last year. This idea they can't afford someone is outdated.

I'm conflicted. I wanted them to bring Thor back and I probably would have matched the 21, but that's probably as far as I would go, and reports are saying he had a 25 million offer on the table.

If he's healthy and effective bring him back when he hits free agency at the end of the year. If healthy, I don't care too much about the price. Now we need to bring back Stro. He's as essential a piece as anybody
