Contrary to the wishes of the fervently anti-Liz faction, she does not have a deep or strong history of believing in the foreign policy status quo. She has been more or less inattentive to foreign policy. She's not a true believer, like Hillary was. Which means she has the space to go either left or right with it. This (single!) hiring decision is movement in the wrong direction. She has the time and space to correct course, and I really wish she would do so. It would significantly alleviate the last lingering issue I have with her.

You can only go by what she says and does. Based on that, there is nothing to indicate she would be any different or better than Democrat orthodoxy. Her hiring a CAP person for foreign policy should be a 1 on the surprise scale.

All that “she has the space to...” stuff is just juelzing. That’s the same hypothetical-rooted verbiage you used to use regarding about Trump in 2016 when you were hoping he would be what you want instead of what he is. How did that work out?

Maybe you should start believing people when they show you who they are.

Is she pro NK isolation? Is she a stooge for Israel, refusing to criticize them or mention Palestinian rights? I find the idea that there's no daylight between Liz and Hillary on FP, or Liz is some crypto-neocon Dem establishment stooge ridiculous precisely because I look at her words and actions. Her history has been ambivalent at worst, and her campaign positions have been towards the left flank of the Democratic Party on FP.

The only actual thing she's done that anti-Liz people (fairly) bringing up is the defense funding vote. A single bad vote. Bernie is better than Liz on FP but he has some absolute stinkers in his history that are hand-waved away by people who have a vested interest in painting Liz as a hawk (Hillary).
