Will Mitch declare he’s going to make Biden a one-term President?
Knowing Trump he'll end the tariffs before the general election then spin it by saying he was saving the American people because America first, etc. Them dumb rust belt white people will fall for it anyway like he's a hero.Isn’t tariffs a tax?
Can you imagine the president stalking warren around the stage? The president needs to be reminded of his tax cut — he will not bring up taxes.
Congrats, you're playing into republican framing. On a debate stage how can Warren compete against Trump on taxes? This is the 2nd time she's dodged taxes going up with her plan. Trump can easily say he cut taxes via tax reform (regardless of how tax reform messed people up) while she will increase them. Game over.
I groaned when I saw her give that "multiple paths" answer in that CNN town hall in March, but ever since then she's has been totally committed to M4A. That was the last time she claimed to be open to multiple paths. I see no reason to punish her for moving in a positive direction. She hasn't rolled out a full healthcare plan on her website because she's riding with the one Bernie has, same as she's riding with Inslee's climate plan. Bernie's plan doesn't eradicate private insurance either, btw, it leaves it open for "non-essential care". Also Warren has plans to utilize executive powers to tackle hospital concentration, which is a load bearing problem with the healthcare industry, while Bernie does not to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong here).@King Kreole breh even with all of that she's been non committal and it contradicts things she's done later. Go to her website and look how light it is on details, doesn't mention the meat of the medicare for all issues and still includes private insurance. It calls for her improving insurers’ compliance & Medicaid to tackle the opioid crisis. Medicaid and other insurers would not exist in Jayapal and Sanders' medicare for all bill! All means everyone has Medicare.
Yeah, this is a better message than the evasive ones she's been giving, and I hope she starts answering like this. I also hope the public won't fall for Republicans remixing the shyt out of this by isolating and magnifying "raising your public tax", which might be an especially potent line if the election coincides with the start of the recession. This isn't the first time she hasn't been able to answer the middle class but I'll do it for her -- We are going to eliminate the private tax you’re currently paying to your health insurance company but raising your public tax and that will be less that you’re paying in premiums, deductibles & copays. We’re actually cutting taxes.
People who care about this want a serious commitment. We don’t want to hear or read about “access” because “access to health care” is the technocratic nonsense that means light improvements to the ACA
People are who are anti-m4a are noticing this language as well in my previous post two days ago and even that little fukking squirt Mayo Pete can see it
You mean like advocating for war in Iran?Congrats, you're playing into republican framing.
Then you dikkheads wonder how republicans keep winning.
Now why would Mitch do that to his friend of 40 years...Will Mitch declare he’s going to make Biden a one-term President?
Warren is just smarter than these fools :BarackObamashhh:
I've never advocated war in IranYou mean like advocating for war in Iran?
and whats funny is you got dweebs like Jake Tapper out here trying to do some sort of "republicans are bad, but anything to the left of Joe Manchin is a communist" bullshytBush Sr's infamous "Read my lips!" is still hot on the minds of most political strategists, but I'd be interested to see what happens if Bernie or Liz just straight up lie and say "Nope, no new taxes for the middle class, in fact we'll cut your taxes!" This is a new social and political era, Trump has fundamentally altered the notion of "truth" in politics. I personally don't care about the candidate lying or being effectively evasive in the pursuit of justice. If the choice is between lying and beating the GOP vs being truthful and giving the GOP ammo against you...I choose the former. I just don't have faith in, or respect for, the intelligence of the American public, and this moment is too important to pass up.
to be honest, M4A won't even happen in the next 4 years.I groaned when I saw her give that "multiple paths" answer in that CNN town hall in March, but ever since then she's has been totally committed to M4A. That was the last time she claimed to be open to multiple paths. I see no reason to punish her for moving in a positive direction. Ultimately, what is the idea here? If Warren isn't truly committed to M4A, why wouldn't she have just come out with her own M4A-lite plan like Pete or Kamala or Biden did? It's not like she's afraid to distinguish herself from Bernie on every other issue where they have legit differences. Why would she publicly defend M4A against those other plans, to the point where she takes political blowback for shielding it from Republican smears? It just doesn't make sense to me. I also don't think the size of the gulf between Bernie and Liz on this issue is relevant because what is possible to accomplish by either will be to the right of both.
I agree that the term "access" should invoke suspicion, but she only used once in a single, obscure tweet in reference to an Asian-American outreach conference. The way I've seen some people talk about it, it's as if she's made it a central feature of her health care plan . Also, Bernie has used it as recently as February, so I think it's fair to cut Liz some slack for a single bad tweet.
