This isn’t how politics works. Lau is running a great campaign where he constantly is able to get free press by controlling media narratives but that is also possible because of fawning coverage. This is part of what HRC complained about with Obama in 08. He also handled the Ayers and Reverend Wright smoke and then got into office and basically had to call in team Clinton alumni. You guys have to stop saying things because they sound nice. I’m sitting here wondering if you’re all the same people I posted with for a decade. Did we learn nothing from the Obama administration? You’re veering off into idolatry again like you did with Hillary.

Lastly, the whole notion that somehow Elizabeth Warren is in anyway comparable to Barack Obama as a person (not as a policy maker) is absurd. Obama already have a third of the south when he won Iowa. They already loved him but didn’t see it happening. Warren is polling in single digits. Comparing the two things are pointless. Obama had legitimate southern surrogates, Warren has no one of note endorsing her over Biden. She is also trailing Sanders and Biden among Latinos.

@Mephistopheles is right about the Howard Dean coalition she has. It’s much easier to take a diverse coalition than grow than to take one that is 71 percent white and magically turn it into a multiracial powerhouse. That’s exactly how Bernie lost in 2016. I may have been the first person on here to endorse Warren but you guys need to stop cheerleading and start analyzing the work that has to be done. Oh and to Bernie supporters, stop taking the bait and arguing with the more antagonistic Warren supporters and vice verse.

If you actually look at some of my recent posts in this thread, I've said that Bernie (prior to this week) has had a better month than Warren. I've also stated that she has to win Iowa in order to siphon off some of Biden's coalition or I don't like her chances of winning the nomination. So I'm not disillusioned about that work that's ahead of her but, unlike you, I'm not going to throw cold water on the excitement I'm feeling for my candidate. You seem to have a habit of doing that a lot in this thread when it comes to Warren. Ok, the media has found their darling - so what? Are we supposed to apologize for this? We know how fickle the media is in this country, the moment she surpasses Biden (I think she's on pace to peak early next year) they will flip on her.

see, that's the one thing i still can't figure out about biden. there clearly is some arrogance any candidate has to have to run, but part of me feels like he's running in a combination of obligation + fulfilling a life dream. i could easily see him being a shell pres and letting his cabinet really run things. that's the part of the cycle i'm ready to get into, see what type of people are floated out there for potential cabinet positions, it will let me know if it's his old policy beliefs that will be acted upon or if he's just a figurehead/placeholders for dems in 2024

I think he'll fall back into his old ways. He's a hands on guy by nature (no pun intended). Problem is we won't hear anything about McConnell and co anymore, him and Biden have been friends for 40 years. People are going back to sleep if he is pres.

As a black man, I've felt like the black vote in primaries never reflects the best candidate for black representation outside of Obama. And even Obama didn't get the black vote until Clinton gaffed her way into a loss. Somehow, we didn't learn from that primary and still voted her in as the Democratic representative in 2016
