it really is weird how you guys keep writing off anti "let's just give all our social services to illegal/undocumented immigrants" as trumpers. a lot of americans are hurting and can't get the social services they need - either because bureaucracy keeps things blocked or being in one of those income brackets where you make "too much" for assistance but too little to live. no, they're not trying to hear a whole ass policy debate on how we need to open our arms and the govt checkbook to illegal aliens. this is across demographics - people of all ages, faiths, races, and political ideologies


this being such a big sticking point for dems is also a slap in the face when you can watch them skip over similarly uncomfortable topics such as reparations. we are the people who's free labor and suffering made this country, vote for dems at a 90%+ clip, yet you can't address us, but can make a whole argument about why some unemployed illegal guatemalans need health care plans? "bu but asylum"


this is like the transgender (bathroom) shyt that was big in 2016, why do dems hang onto such fringe issues, that most of their base doesn't care about, to appeal to the smallest margin? furthermore, when you have a platform that is already a lot to take in - i'm talking the proposals on M4A, free college/loan forgiveness, raising tax on the 1% - why don't you focus on making those policies that actually benefit all of us but would require big changes more palatable, into things people feel ok on voting on, THEN the next discussion when in office is the fringe shyt like covering illegals. that part of the convo is putting the cart before the horse and not doing any favors for them outside the bleeding heart SJW echo chamber of the internet.
