If winning them back means returning to policies that actually improve the lives of the working class and rectifying historical injustices against marginalized communities, then I completely agree. But if winning them back means sidelining those policies in favor of chasing the Republican Party down a spiral of moral degradation or benign neglect of said communities, then those voters should have never been in the Democratic coalition in the first place and should have no place in the future the Democratic Party should be attempting to build.

Low-key a lot of Democrats don't agree being too far to the left on Immigration. They are losing people making this a priority.
I'm arguably the most mainstream democrat here. and even I'm telling you that the democrats are treating black voters with EXTRA hostility this year.
We're getting treated like quarantined patients this go around.
Its kinda astonishing you won't find a single mainstream black talking-head who will admit this, but there are DOZENS of black academics who aren't given "elite" MSM positions to refute this.
Blacks have been against illegal immigration for 40 years and people are really trying to change that record.
I'm talking everyone from mayors, all the way up to senators and congressmen and women

Not really. If anybody comes into an emergency room with a life-threatening condition, the hospital is required by law to treat them. Even if they're illegal.
And quite frankly anybody who wants hospitals to let people die because they're in the country illegally is a scumbag and the Dems need not pander to them.
Now if you're talking about putting illegal immigrants on an insurance plan or something, that's a different story. But I don't think that's really what was asked.
Our healthcare system in this country let's legal US citizens die everyday.

Facts. @acri1 of course Hospitals have to treat you in an emergency room situation. It’s been pretty clear that the Dems are talking about providing actual healthcare coverage for illegal immigrants. American Citizens should not have to pay for the full coverage of individuals who are here illegally. The Dems will lose to Trump on this alone.
Biden (who I’m supporting) is going to catch a Major L in the Midwest if he doesn’t fix his position on this. The Dems think the majority of the country is solely focused on jobs and not illegal immigration though
In Joe Biden's defense, I don't see him going too far left on this issue. He doesn't seem to have a history of being pro-illegal alien and he was hesitant at the debate to raise his hand on this issue. I believe if or once he becomes the nominee he will go full blown Republican.

But look how desperate the Dems want to get away from black issues. Instead of shoring up black votes, they'd rather chase white votes they have no chance of getting.
That's why the "we can't afford reparations" argument is moot when you're talking about free sh_t for illegals, free college, free healthcare for all, etc.
