i get the whole wanting to paint yourself as independent of big money/corporate interests influencing your policies, but in today's world, you aint running no campaign from this point into next year on individual donations. some of the random virtue signaling of the dem party is annoying, as we pivot into the core of the primaries next year then to the general, they gonna be looking for anyone to cut the check

This is why Warrens fundraising is already low. It’s only so much individual donors she can peel from the other candidates. Businesses will definitely not put any money behind her, she’s going to be broke before all this is over. If she’s smart, she’ll cut her losses way before that and call it quits.

ehh, she's one of the few candidates i feel has potential to grow, her profile has been rising. but all of them are going to have issues if they keep going with this no PAC/lobby/corp money dikk measuring contest...

this is a cute platitude for those progressives running for the house or state positions, this doesn't work in a presidential campaign

Sanders did it last primary. He can pretty much stay in it forever. Come general election time he can do the same thing and have the DNC raise money and PAC do what they do while being like :manny:. But he's the only one viable aside from Warren who would naturally get his entire network behind her.

cant help but notice that when republicans roll out candidates, its not a list of things they should apologize for :scusthov: what the fukk is going on? this is so weak

apologizing for past grievances isnt gonna fukkin unseat a president

The difference is, GOP voters are nihilistic. It’s a party of corporate and big businesses. It’s mainly a white party. They agree on all the regressive shid they wanna do. Almost Every President they’ve elected since Nixon has done something criminal.

The Democratic Party is not united. There’s a real ideological difference across the party. There’s a generational difference. The moderates have the power and have corporate ties. The progressives are relying on populism and building a mass movement.

You’re getting this “apology tour” from Joe because he has a lot of baggage from being in the Senate for so long. I get that he represented Delaware, the tax haven of the East Coast. But his votes, his bills, have had bad public policy outcomes and IMO younger voters see that cause the internet got receipts.

Also, since the labor movement which was the backbone of Dem Party for decades has been destroyed by Reaganism, there aren’t the plethora of outside movements that there were in the early 20th century. Those movements in the midst of the Great Depression was why Roosevelt had to use public power to try to stem the tide.

We don’t have those right now and that frustration from the left is manifesting itself and why Biden is a shoo in for the nomination most probably if he doesn’t fukk up (which he may do). Cause even if Bernie wins more states or even more votes, no one will have majority of pledged delegates by convention and the superdelegates will for sure give it to Joe on 2nd ballot :smugbiden:

That’s how this will probably all play out.

And that’s where I have a problem with this being their platitude, when it comes down to the come down, they’re gonna take PAC/corporate money regardless. I’d rather folks just take it up front but have the balls to say “no promises” :ld:

If that happens, Trump will win, and as we're all suffering in the concentration camps, people like Nap will be telling us it's all Bernie's fault.

If Trump was actually popular, I’d say it’d be a slam dunk but since he’s a bad President and there could be some events that highlight this further, it may not matter.

The Dem establishment is ruthless. And this isn’t just for Bernie. They’ll do this to Liz Warren.
