Bill Clinton was re-elected in ‘96 even tho he was the Democratic president who lost the House for the first time since The Great Depression during the ‘94 midterms.

The mid-terms don’t mean shyt for presidential elections.

Lol they don’t mean shyt when y’all don’t want them to mean shyt. :pachaha:

plenty of examples showing the opposite.

facts are in all those examples a progressive isn’t a part of the conversation for any of those examples.

That’s the only constant, a progressive isn’t even at the table .

Explain away that one

The "Joe Biden is a neoliberal who voted for the 94 crime bill the Iraq War and is no better than Trump and the primary was rigged" crowd or the "Bernie is too far left and I can't vote for a socialist" crowd, for starters. Basically people who are unhappy with how the primary goes. I already see people on here saying, for example, they'll only vote for Bernie.
.
if biden is the nominee with a few Obama campaign appearances, and the DNC tweaks his message heading into the summer, I guarantee there's no problem with dem turnout. breh, the left is gonna be in a fukkin FRENZY to vote trump out in 2020 :dead: he's only getting worse. he has another 10 months to get worse and worse and worse :laff:

who are these people in here saying they wouldn't vote for biden in 2020 btw :dahell: can you @ them?
My question is, what makes you so sure these Obama-Trump voters would switch to Biden? I've seen absolutely zero indication that any significant amount of Trump voters regret their vote.
because they know that trump is a piece of shyt and a con artist, but they'd rather vote for trump than vote for "socialism" and Bernie raising their taxes :yeshrug: all these people like ana Navarro, George Conway, etc, will be a loud and vocal group shaming moderate repubs about voting for trump again. if the dems can give them a palatable alternative to trump, I think people will vote his ass out. biden was Obama's loyal VP for 8 years and he was chosen to appeal to the EXACT kind of people we need to flip in 2020

just my opinion :hubie: im no political scientist, but america will do a 90 degree shift to biden in 2020 before it does a 180 degree shift to bernie

America is more stratified politically than any point in history. Shaming Trump voters won’t work. Democrats need to turn out their base to win. If you’re voting Biden you have to ask yourself if he can do a better job of turning out POC in the Midwest and Arizona. He has a better framework given all the young people registered in 2018 but they remains to be seen. This is the electoral college so I have no idea why people keep talking about the south outside of Florida, which is probably not going to happen. Sure, fight in Florida and Georgia but ultimately this election is solely about PA, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona.

Can you share those examples?

The only recent example is 2002, and that was due to 9/11 which the GOP won a lot of seats. 2006 when people realized Bush was lying about Iraq, gave the Dems minor margins.

like FAH just said, we're coming off historic turnout in the 2018 midterms. those people are not staying home in 2020 :yeshrug:

im looking more at stuff like this

2020 is NOT a change year. it's a return to normalcy year. in 2024, if you guys wanna run a commie and go all in on that shyt, i'll vote for em. i just can't do it in 2020 because i don't see it happening

*and im just talking primary. in the general i'll vote for bernie, pocahontas, whoever the fukk. but i'm all biden in the primary

well by every available polling metric, your flat out wrong. I understand ppl that believe in warren/Bernie have certain delusions.

but unfortunately the facts can’t be disputed.

:smugbiden: Is kicking ass nationwide
Sanders typically outperforms polling. He's much bigger among young voters, most of which aren't accounted for in these polls. Iowa and NH is a statistical tie between Biden and Sanders right now. Those first few primaries could decide the whole thing. Let Sanders win Iowa/NH, and it could be curtains especially when Warren drops out and throws her support Bernie's way.
