Because while Trump is extremely popular with Republicans, he's not very popular with everybody else. And because the president's party almost always loses seats.

My point isn't that Trump is a popular president overall. It's that it's foolish for Democrats to expend too much effort trying to appeal to Republican voters (whether they claim to be "Never Trumpers" or not) and the time would be better spent trying to get their own people to turn out.

Do you saying that his base never increased, numbers wise. Just a handful of CACs that always voted Republican, anyway.

He's losing massive support and only people with agendas are spreading that "why bother to vote?" Suppression tactic. Not gonna work this time. You are not correct.

Only way the Dems win is if their base shows up at significantly greater rates than they did in 2016. Going out of their way to appease "Never Trumpers" instead is foolish because they barely exist.
nah. there are millions of people who voted for obama and then voted for trump. i guarantee that bloc would almost all vote for biden

who are these democrats that you see staying home in 2020 :why: can someone specifically answer this? what demographic?

apparently they think more young ppl in blue states will mean dems will win. :yeshrug:

they keep citing young ppl voting for dems decreasing when 97% of those voters were in deep blue states.

Logically this makes sense to them:mjgrin:
Just warren and Bernie fans trying to spin bs as usual

The "Joe Biden is a neoliberal who voted for the 94 crime bill the Iraq War and is no better than Trump and the primary was rigged" crowd or the "Bernie is too far left and I can't vote for a socialist" crowd, for starters. Basically people who are unhappy with how the primary goes. I already see people on here saying, for example, they'll only vote for Bernie.

My question is, what makes you so sure these Obama-Trump voters would switch to Biden? I've seen absolutely zero indication that any significant amount of Trump voters regret their vote.

That's the exact opposite of the point I was trying to make. :gucci:

My point is everybody needs to vote BECAUSE Trump hasn't lost much support.

Did you forget about 2010? :usure:

Dems got destroyed, but two years later Obama got easily reelected. Last thing Dems need to do is be overconfident because of 2018. Midterms generally aren't predictive of how the next election will go.

Bill Clinton was re-elected in ‘96 even tho he was the Democratic president who lost the House for the first time since The Great Depression during the ‘94 midterms.

The mid-terms don’t mean shyt for presidential elections.

Difference is... the 2018 midterms was the highest turnout for a midterm since 1970.
