Black people aren't the reason Trump won. And honestly you aren't going to recreate the Obama affect.

white young voters almost voted the same for Clinton in 16 as they did Obama in 08

the real change from young black voters to come out. That’s how u win. U mast have a black vp to do this

Obama had lower black turnout in 2012 than 2008.

Adding a VP who has little power is in no way shape or form going to boost a candidate to the level of the First Black President.

And to be frank there isn't one candidate as likeable as Obama running. :yeshrug:

If you want to increase black voter turnout campaign better. Or you know, don't talk about immigrants during a reparations question

This isn’t true. Blacks had a higher black participation rate in 2012

A Biden/Bullock ticket would be horrendous :picard:.

That ticket would depress Democratic turnout by a big margin :picard:.

There definitely needs to be a woman on the ticket, it's time. Women are the backbone of the Democratic Party, especially Black women.
In 1984, no one was gonna beat Reagan breh and definitely not Mondale. Also, it was the '80s, there was a higher level of sexism then.

Also, Sarah Palin was a TERRIBLE choice for VP (or any governmental position) :mjlol:.

Yeah but,
Abrams and Pressley are much better politicians imo. I fukking hate that racist feminist bytch Geraldine Ferraro. And Sara Palin is one of the dumbest human beings on this earth. I can’t see Stacey Abrams or Ayanna Pressley performing anywhere near as bad as Farraro or Palin.

They need swing voters. It has to be someone that relates to middle america. That's not Abrams or Harris. Maybe Booker or Pressley. The independents need to come back for the Dems to pull this off. Also, Joe needs to be on the same wavelength with his running mate. People disagree but Tim Ryan would make sense too. Or even Klobuchar if you have to. You have to win this time.

I didn’t say Black people were the reason Trump won. There are multiple reasons why he won. But it is a fact that lower Black turnout played a part in Trumps victory. Along with the 12 percent of White Obama voters that voted for Trump. There are about 15 other reasons I can name as well.

And I disagree that the Obama coalition can’t be recreated. You just need the right candidate. I don’t see that candidate in this cycle, but it can be done.

Isn't that the point of nominating Joe Biden? Or so I've heard? :skip:

Once the party influencers start saying a dem candidate NEEDS to pick a woman (or a woman of color) as a running mate, you put them in a box that they may not be able to get out of. A dem candidate needs to pick the best person(male or female) that will help them win the states they need to win the General. I don’t believe Stacey can appeal to a large portion of voters and make Them feel comfortable with her taking over should something happen to Biden.
Being anti Stacey doesn’t equal being anti woman, a lot of y’all have been anti woman

It was 95-4 in 2008
It was 93-6 in 2012.

2012 had 2 million less voters than 2008 despite having an increase of 6 million VAP.

The white turnout was significantly lower than 2008, which caused the black voting share to increase.

In my case I hope I don't come off as anti woman, I'm just looking at history and the fact midwest voters are not up with the woke agenda, even the minority ones. Plus the fact we need those states back. No way should we be losing Iowa, not with all the colleges in that state.

But I get why @John Reena @Atlrocafella are against stacey, she brings nothing to the ticket.

Thats voting rate. particpation rate=turnout rate

Turns out the stats are all over the place. The things I read said it increased Minority Turnout Determined the 2012 Election

Others say it decreased https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...home-in-2016-more-than-a-third-of-them-black/
