Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s (D-NY) CNN town hall was a ratings nightmare for the network, as it “bagged a paltry 491,000 in total viewers and 115,000 in the advertiser-coveted A25-54 demographic,” according to
Mediaite.
To put Gillibrand’s town hall in some perspective,
Fox News drew in 2,381,000 average viewers during Gillibrand’s town hall and 434,000 in the coveted 25-54 years old demographic.
MSNBC’s drew in 1,857,000 average viewers and 300,000 in the 25-54 year-old demographic.

Mediaite also pointed out that “CNN’s 10 p.m. host Don Lemon doubled those numbers: on average, he bagged 1.16 million total viewers and 361,000 in the demo.”
The poor town hall ratings are indicative of the struggles that Gillibrand’s 2020 presidential campaign has had. Gillibrand has struggled to gain traction in the polls,
often polling at around or under 1 percent in most recent national polls.
