what do you mean "these kind of roles"? the man was just in Battle Angel, which i wanna see of the strength of his acting and i heard it was good.
he was in Luke Cage as the best villain in the series
True Detective
He was amazing as Remy

Fym these type of roles tho :patrice:

Don’t forget he was a west coast spitta also... he could probably get a stack of beats from alchemist ASAP.

It is incredible watching this and seeing in real time how our history and achievements are actively muted. They made this achievement into a buddy movie between a black musician and a mobster.

Mahershala Ali looking funny in the light brehs

at a certain we gotta ask ourselves how does he always end up in these kind of roles :francis:
funny in the light? He’s getting better with every role, you seen him in true detective? People are gonna start giving him that “best actor alive” label

poor all round.

i thought Spike was finally going to get his best picture Oscar in the way that Leo basically got his.
so for Green Book to end up winning it is a joke.

Rami Malek winning was disgraceful. great to see how far Regina King has came.

happy for Mahershala but i was kind of hoping Richard E Grant won because one, i loved his small arc on Girls and i've found him amusing and his giddyness and sheer enjoyment at just being involved has been one of the few things i've paid attention to this awards season. finest coke Hollywood had to offer has been flowing through him.

Do the Right Thing lost to Driving Miss Daisy in 1990.

Some things never change. :francis:

I think Driving Miss Daisy is better than Do the Right Thing. DTRT is choppy as hell. It's like film student choppy. The transition of scene to scene irks me every time I watch it. And then it's starring Spike Lee. That right there takes it out of the discussion. Jessica Tandy & Morgan killed it in Driving Miss Daisy.

Out of the films nominated that year I would’ve picked Born on the Fourth of July
