One thing I notice is no one mentions if they liked BlackKlansman.

Did anyone like this movie?

Loved it.

I know the ending rubbed a few people the wrong way but Spike has MORE than proven his loyalty to the black community and to black cinema so artistically i’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Also my man who played Dr Dre in Straight Outta Compton did an INCREDIBLE job as Stokely Carmichael.

Spike’s win was deserving, it wasn’t no lifetime acheivement award, and Denzel’s son has a bright future in acting

I think Driving Miss Daisy is better than Do the Right Thing. DTRT is choppy as hell. It's like film student choppy. The transition of scene to scene irks me every time I watch it. And then it's starring Spike Lee. That right there takes it out of the discussion. Jessica Tandy & Morgan killed it in Driving Miss Daisy.

I don't agree with this at all.. Do The Right Thing is a groundbreaking film that not only ushered in 90's cinema but the indy film scene that broke away from the safe gloomy Hollywood image that films like Driving Miss Daisy pushed. In fact the main reason Do The Right Thing got snubbed by Hollywood/The Academy is that the imagery provoked some type of fear in them....

Driving Miss Daisy is only put together better because it had a machine and a proper budget behind it. When all is said and done... the only memorable thing about Driving Miss Daisy is that it gave someone the idea to create this scene.

And the same happened here. One is a safe movie that acknowledges race issues but focuses on two opposites working it out, whereas Spike uses the happy Hollywood ending as a setup for a harsh dose of reality that nothing has changed in the past 50 years and racism is still a very integrated part of society.
