It would be actually be kind of ironic seeing Black Panther win Best Picture and see Kevin Feige (who is the only producer nominated for the film and the most generic looking 45 year old white guy in the land) get up on stage and talk about diversity.

Yeah, Black Panther got the same bad deal as The Winter Soldier. It was running great as a somewhat unconventional blockbuster and then the suits probably vetoed that the third act needed to be a typical blockbuster CGI action fest. And BP actually got it worse because some of the CGI is absolutely atrocious.

I think THR or Deadline did an interview with 20 different Academy voters and it was a lot of them said they liked Black Panther but wasn't going to vote for it because Disney makes too much money and someone voted for Bohemian Rhapsody because it's a "Guilty Pleasure" even though the movie sucks. The Netflix shyt is they really got beef with Netflix to the point where they don't want to vote for Roma.
