He should have left this year :yeshrug:

Upcoming QB class is going to push him down even more. Plus the streets wanted to see Kyler at QB. :wow:

He could've. But he'll be ok next year. It'll be a test for him to finally not have Sterling Shep or Dede Westbrook. If he can still ball out this year then he's no doubt legit. Just hope he doesnt get hurt given his aggressiveness. Kyler can't be our full-time QB, he's just too small. I was 10 feet from him at the spring game, dude is TINY. Elusive, but tiny. He'll get some snaps though in our offense.

Arden Key is the best player in this class. He got bigger during the off season too

Top 5 player? Sure. #1 player in this class? Hell no.

Saquon Barkley, Derwin James, and Antonio Callaway are the top talents in this class by a significant margin.

I currently have Arden Key rated as the 4th best player in the 2018 draft.

barring injury, Baker Mayfield is gonna be a great pick.

They're taking more guys from these passing offenses higher in drafts now. Mahomes, Goff, Davis Webb.....Baker Mayfield is bigger than you think. He's the size of a safety and is a great athlete b/c he used to be a WR

They didnt even list Orlando Brown on there. He could've came out this year. He's gonna be one of the top LT in the draft. Watch.

Not a chance. Arm strength is too weak. He can't make the basic throws that are required in an NFL offense with the proper velocity.

There's a chance he might not even get drafted.

you have ZERO clue what you're talking about right here.

Zero.

I put my account on the line that Dobbs would NOT go in the 1st rd....and he wasn't near it. Even tho u said otherwise.

Didn't you argue with me a few years ago about that small linebacker y'all had. I believe it was Eric Striker and I said he wouldn't get drafted while you went on about him being a first or second round pick.

In the NFL measurables matter not college stardom. Why else do you think fukkin Mitch Trubisky and Pat Mahomes went ahead of Deshaun Watson? Outside of the :mjpls: factor, Watson went behind those guys cause his arm strength was weak.

Baker Mayfield arm strength makes Deshaun Watson look like he's Dan Marino. The guy will be a late day 3 pick at best. He simply can't make NFL throws and is undersized. He's the classic college QB that becomes irrelevant in the pros.

Baker just has size (and character:mjpls: ) working against him

But mostly size.

And arm strength. Dude can't make any of those outside side hash out routes that are necessary to play QB in the NFL.

I remember when we shut him down 2 years ago in Neyland. Our DBs basically sat on the short stuff and basically dared him to throw deep on us. He couldn't do it. I'll give him credit for being a gritty player who can make something outta nothing. But that only works in college.

In the NFL you need at least some arm strength. Baker Mayfield lacks that prerequisite.

Accuracy, pocket awareness/presence, etc. He really regressed as a passer after so many early big game performances. He only completed 56% of his passes last year, that's really not good at all, not for consideration for a first rounder. He has a lot to improve before being a legit NFL QB.
If he came out this year 5th round grade. Just too much of a project right now. Allen, Rosen and Darnold have the highest current grades as 3rd rounders. They are all legit 2nd-4th rounders in this year draft. Mayfield, Syracuse QB and Lamar Jackson are 4th round grades which is usually 6th rounders or later in the draft. Jerod Evans had a 4th round grade by me and went undrafted.

That said, QBS improve tons in the offseason for the most part. Where these guys will be depends on their team and individual success. Some will drop, some will vastly improve

He ran a 4.34 in the spring...but did that at 195.
I'd say he's more advanced as a passer than RG3/Vick when they were his age. I want him to have success, but I low key think he needs to stay two more years.
I always said RG3 raise should have raised even my own eyes, he was literally an UDFA prospect the season previous and now is the 2nd best QB in Football. I should have looked at the overall game. Then again, so did Dak and he's going to be a very good NFL QB

QBs do improve though. Matt Ryan threw for like 15 tds his JR year and then became a Heisman candidate his Sr. year. Its all about staying on the field and getting those reps once you're in the pros.

RG3's problem is his throwing motion combined with the lateness of his reads. He knows when guys are open, but it's always late. Which caused him take so many extra hits and then lose trust in the pocket. He's a guy that really needed his elite athleticism until he mastered the pocket. Those injuries cost him a lot of reps to get better.
