Well their new regime has had two drafts so far. So too early to determine how they are doing. Focusing on the draft is the way to go though.

Their draft in 2016 was terrible. 2017 was a little better but taking Kizer in the 2nd was a huge miss.
In 2018 if they can find a franchise QB they'll be alright. But having a lot of draft picks and missing won't be a good look.
they have 5 picks in the first two rounds next draft too
im speaking more on the strategy they have implemented rather than the execution right now because its too early to determine the quality they have drafted

He's good but I think the hype is a bit much. Hooker still the most impressive dude I seen in the last 10 yearswe'll I guess Berry and then Hooker. James isn't ahead of them YET.
Derwin James can actually tackle unlike Hooker who seems allergic to run support.
James is an all-around safety like Sean Taylor. He can play in the box like an extra linebacker and he can play centerfield like Hooker as a single high safety in coverage. Hell he can even rush off the edge like a defensive end.
Derwin James is far and away the best safety prospect since Sean Taylor.

Accuracy, pocket awareness/presence, etc. He really regressed as a passer after so many early big game performances. He only completed 56% of his passes last year, that's really not good at all, not for consideration for a first rounder. He has a lot to improve before being a legit NFL QB.

True he needs to improve as a passer. But his running ability is such a weapon that he'll be a 1st rounder just based on that skill. I know nikkas are gonna bring up RG3 but this dude is nothing like him. RG3 was just a straight line speed track guy. He wasn't very slippery when he ran and didn't make people miss. Lamar Jackson is slippery as well as explosive and doesn't get injured. He's the new Mike Vick. I would take Lamar Jackson in the 1st round without a second of hesitation. He's too dynamic of an athlete not to.
And before all the c00ns and cacs come in here saying you can't win with a running QB. Just look at how succesful a young Mike Vick was. He took a weak Atlanta Falcons team to the NFC Championship game his second year and became the first dude to beat the Packers in Lambeau during the playoffs.
