All things aside, part of it is the "he did better than expected so that means the favorite looked worse than expected" syndrome. Truthfully, for whatever reason, AJ never never got out of first gear. Never was truly hurt, he was hurt a few times and the ref fukked it up, but was never in DANGER. Didn't have to go for broke, so he did enough to win and thats all that matters

AJ fought smart to be honest .... most people thought that Parker had a chance by beating him with his superior speed and movement, or that AJ would gas in the later rounds...

he done the smart thing and just worked off his jab , conserving energy and tieing up Parker whenever he tried to fight on the inside which is what you are supposed to do against a smaller fighter ....

didnt make for a great spectacle tho...

The last thing I’ll say

Joshua (stiff, robotic, no head movement, suspect jaw) is not great and wilder (wild, no balance, no real fundamentals, suspect chin)is not great. 50/50 fight.

The fight should be in America imo. I know aj is making tons of money in the uk but if he fights over here it would not only make him bigger but heavyweight boxing bigger.

But at the same time I don’t agree with America being that great at marketing ,why is wilder not one of the biggest athletes here? Just before Tyson took over boxing they were saying it was “dead”. Why couldn’t wilder do the same thing?

Anyway I’m out

You need a dancing partner bruh. He cant help it that otber HW's arent stepping up to the plate to help his resume out. Povetkin popped dirty and then the Ortiz fight had to be rescheduled bc he popped dirty too. Fury went awol after beating Vlad so who else was there for him to scrap

Since he ain't getting wilder
Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker: Dillian Whyte calls out Alexander Povetkin ringside
He will be mandatory for Anthony Joshua but I have got another heavyweight who wants to fight Alexander Pvertkin in June, if he wants it,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

Whyte then added that he was impressed with how Povetkin and says they have agreed to a scrap.

“I have just seen him in there,” Whyte said.

“He is a good strong fighter but I know what I need to do to beat him.

“He has got a good jab and I will be Povetkin all day long.

“I’ll fight him next. I just told him and he said he’ll fight me next.

“Eddie said he’ll make it so lets make it.

“Lets do it, I’m ready.”

Most sensible post in here .....

i can tell you know about boxing unlike a couple of these idiots ....lol

I think right now AJ and Wilder beat Fury...... two years ago Fury beats AJ maybe Wilder .... but now Furys been out the game to long and to be really honest I dont think his heart is really in it, i think he just wants a payday ....

Ive been boxing over 25 years since i was 9 and I can tell you easily that Wilder is an awful boxer, in terms of technique BUT his straight right would put ANYONE to sleep......hardest punch in the business

but for all his flaws Joshua is easily the better boxer ....

genuine 50/50 fight

This is a legit 50/50 fight. I think AJ fought like a man that didn't want to upset the apple cart. The Wilder fight is about as close to reality as its ever been and he fought as if he didn't wanna chance something fluky happening. Especially after seeing the Ortiz vs Wilder fight. He was content on jabbing and not engaging and possibly getting clipped in an exchange. I don't expect him to fight like this once the fight is actually here. Plus Wilder won't allow him to fight this passive with his style anyway.

It appears as if AJ will keep them belts hostage.

if the biggest sports network on this side was backing wilder & he was getting that murican media push he'd be a star worldwide

the difference in their public profile is all down to support

when boxing was supported in the states our champions were icon status world round

now boxing gets next to zero coverage

so the aj numbers ain't really a flex

he's supposed to do those numbers

behind premier league footballers the most backed sporting stars on that side of the pond are in the ring

simple math

few things you have wrong...

most loved fighter in Britain ever was Bruno.... he never even smelled the numbers AJ gets .....

no other boxer in the UK bar Froch came close to what AJ is doing

boxing was dead in the UK up until about 5 years ago .... most of the revival in boxing in the UK has nothing to do with the networks and everything to do with the promoters ...

the promoters you have in the States are shyt .....

Only dude really trying is Al haymon, the rest are bums who are just stealing a living

Even Mayweather says the love he gets in Europe is better than anything he got in the states ....

American fans dont support their own .... If Wilder was a UK boxer he would be ten times richer and bigger .......

Floyd fighting in his own country against pacquio , and more people cheering for Pacquio .... fukking insulting

American fans are bums, could never happen anywhere else in the world
