I think we beat Golden State in 6 with that lineup. CP3 and Harden need to be on the phone with PG asap, and if they can sell him on it then I believe Morey can do the rest.
Yeah, I hate to see Ariza go, as I believe he deserves that 2nd ring with us but pg13 is a younger version of him with a better shot. Gordon would be a tough loss but I'm expecting him to get injured like before. Promote Green to take his spot? Need cp3 to give us some leeway cuz he realistically only has 4 good years left.

I’m here for a 2 year max with a 3rd year option type thing. Paul and Harden perfectly complemented each other and were great together. There’s no other PG that could instantly bring what Paul brought to the Rockets nor did what he did for Harden. Jrue Holliday doesn’t do that (which was our plan b had the Paul deal not been reached), and neither do George Hill, Jeff Teague, or Darren Collison. If signing Paul means you eventually get Lebron, you make that deal.

Not sure how this team will look next season, but there needs to been some younger fresh reliable legs inserted into this team. And I’m not even talking about 20-23. I’m talking about 25-28. Joe Johnson and Nene need to be replaced by solid guys anywhere from 6-8 years younger than them. Ryno obviously needs to be replaced by a rebounding stretch 4 that’s an actual athlete, and younger. I’m cool if Ariza were resigned to a small deal, cause he’s reliable, but I wouldn’t make a fuss if he’s gone since he’s been on a noticeable decline. He gets beat off the dribble A LOT, even if he is still pretty solid defensively.

There is no point talking about Paul George.

Obviously he would be a perfect fit. but I really don't think dude cares about winning like that.

Either go all in for Lebron or just bring back the same squad with a few tweaks and hope they can stay healthy.

I'm def not for CP3 getting the max but if you flirt with that you gotta at least poison pill it to where he gets the bulk of his money at the end of his contract.

They really gotta get rid of Ryan Anderson but nobody is gonna take a cac making $20 million a year that is basically unplayable.

2 things: (1) I agree [i was on the camp of wanting a backup point guard all season] and two, a lot of people are talking about the hail mary for Lebron.. but lowkey the most intriguing thing is that we could potentially acquire Paul George for just Eric Gordon and scraps. If PG13 opts-in to his last year, his contract is 20 mill, which is comparable to Gordon's. So if he lets OKC know he's bouncing and wants to come here, we can offer OKC a flip.

The big obstacle would be convincing PG13 to opt-in/wait an extra year to get a max contract. If he wants to opt-out, then his situation is no different than what we face with trying to get Bron. But if George wants to do the exact same thing Chris Paul did and forfeit an early (big) raise to play for us...

Then we hypothetically can roll out:
Capela
Tucker
PG13
Harden
CP3

W/o gutting our team past the guys we may lose anyway to free agency (either Luc or Ariza). The question would be if that starting lineup would be something we'd be at peace with, with CP3, Harden, Capela locked in to max deals, and PG13 up for his the next year. Basically we'd be over the cap and stuck with this team, with the possibility that George may bounce if we have a shyt year.
EG being hot from 3 kept the series alive at times. You don't fear PG being not as good a shooter will hurt?

Can't trade 2 for 3's with GS

Eric was invaluable but if it came down to a straight-up swap, I'd pull the trigger w/o question.

Reason why we had to rely on Eric hitting ignorant bailout 3s from 25-30ft out is bc no one else on our team can dribble, much less facilitate, outside of cp3/harden.

GSW actually killed us with 2s bc KD shot over Gordon and CP3 like they were chairs.... and they killed us scoring off dumb turnovers bc our offense is trash w/o cp3, esp when Harden turns into a mental midget.

Trade Capela rights & dump Anderson in the same move, Fight me!

Trade to get Jordan for the lobs/D & get Bron. Only way you can beat the Warriors.

Paul needs to pull a D Wade and take less money if he wants a ring or two.

Love Capela to the moon but if he has to be sacrificed to get the best active nba player on the planet then Capela will have to die for our sins :wow:

I’m ok with a PG trade/signing as well, that frees us up to get rid of Gordon or Ariza if necessary. Gordon was ass cheeks until the wcf & Ariza is starting to show his high mileage.

This does raise an interesting point. Namely, are we at the point where we consider pure fukkery trades? :lolbron:

  • 29 yr DeAndre Jordan at a discount for 24yr Clint Capela at the max?
  • James Harden for Lebron straight-up? [if Lebron agrees to sign a multi-year max] If Bron is dead set on coming here, does Dan Gilbert say no? Do we?

I'm :troll:but also :lupe: at the same time

That Jordan discount is suspect. No exact number. Has been mentioned. I’d rather have Clint. I’m cool with bringing the same team back as long as we have CP3. I’m sick if we lose CP3. I’d like a third star but I don’t want to lose Tucker or Clint. They’re key to our defensive identity.

Luc can kick rocks. He’s too injury prone and a mental Midget to help us. Plus at his age I’d rather Ariza come of the bench. SF needs to be upgraded. It’s our weakest position.
