Back in high school, when folks went from Jay fans to Nas fans overnight. It was crazy. It wasn't cool to like Jay at that time. Jay was literally done. It was so bad that he had to do a double disc a year later because he wasnt too sure if he was going to sell plat again. He had to fake his retirement again in order to become cool again. Nas actually made Jay quit and on top of all that, he made the roc have to put in work. Freeway, young gunz, and etc because Jay wasn't it at the moment. For a second, you had folks saying young Chris and beans were better than Jay. Yikes.

Crazy thing was before ether. I remember how flex and hot 97 were all on the roc's dikk. Had them freestyling once every week on flex's show dissing Nas, Jaz o, prodigy and etc. The last 5 months in 2001 right before and after 911 were tense.
