You'd think they'd at least give Beasts of No Nation love
:mjpls:

The Creed thing doesn't blow me as much because i didn't expect it to get anything so I was prepped for that but I really figured compton would get a nod. But I also knew it wouldn't win so here's my question to the crew: as a black man, or black woman, would you rather a film get nominated when you know it has a real shot at winning OR is the "honor to be nominated" thing enough?

I agree with most of the technical category nominations but we couldn't get one POC nomination in the 20 actor slots?

Besides that I love that Fury Road got recognized.

I can say the same shyt about Gravity and that bullshyt won 7 oscars
yeah, not sure that shyt flies. Maybe they blew their load on that, b/c Nolan didn't get one for Interstellar... at least I don't think he did.

I'm not sure where you studied arithmetic breh:sas1:

Don't get me wrong I'm rooting for max to get best picture and director but i have my backup pick

I'm just saying breh, don't act like his 12 is infinitely better than 10 for a flick that no one saw coming vs 12 for a flick that screams "give me an oscar":sas1:

Absolutely :why:

How many predominately black films over the years thats missed out on that recognition? The more black films nominated the more quality black films Hollywood will put out.

Good point. Just asking. I like to win but I see your point completely. I guess I lean more toward " give me that damn trophy" but its not a hard lean. pause

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
So, for his new movie, The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio got the flu and hypothermia about four or five times, ate a raw Bison liver, and (reportedly) slept in dead animal carcasses to keep warm. I'm surprised he didn't try to piss off a real bear and have it try to attack him ("LET'S DO THIS FOR REAL!!!") Yeah...someone give him an Oscar before he does something else insane.
