I'm gonna edit OP and do a 2017 Top 15 Big Board Here some initial notes before that though..
Potential sleepers among incoming freshmen:
Tony Bradley - I really liked his game during EYBL last year and his jumper looked even better in the Mickey Ds 3pt shoot out. With Brice gone he should step into Hicks current role, as Hicks moves up to starter. He will prob stay at least 2 years though.
TJ Leaf - looked really goid this season as he is continuing to improve. No offense to his dad but some real coaching and playing next to Ball should really help him as well.
Rawle Alkins - I didn't see him his senior season but I heard that he was pretty disappointing. With that said he was prob the best player in the Adidas Gauntlet last summer. We will see how he does with Sean Miller. Lock down defender potential for sure.
Jarrett Allen - I'm a fan, will be interesting to see what school he ends up at and how that effects his stock.
Future busts:
Thon Maker - I actually started to appreciate him a little toward the end of last year as he began to use his size more but he has shown an alarming lack of improvement this year.
Terrance Ferguson - not even that good of a shooter, can't create for himself or others. D still needs work just like any other high schooler. I never understood the hype.
Omer Yurtseven - not sure if I'm spelling his name right but he isn't very good. Don't understand the hype, typical soft Euro big but doesn't even have perimeter skills. Some what athletic for a Euro but not that impressive. Prob would be unranked of he played hs ball in the states.
Nbadraft.net has Edmond Sumner in the 2017 lottery and draftexpress has Rodions Kuruce in their mock but I think those are "I have a hunch" picks because neither one has done much so far to be ranked that high.
Guys that I'm split on for now, need to see more:
Marques Bolden - didn't like him that much last summer in EYBL but he has been dominant this year for his HS team leading them to Texas Championship. Another guy that will be interesting to see which school he picks.
Frank Jackson - I wasn't impressed last summer and even though his game is different I compared him to Derryck Thornton Jr in the sense that he will not live up to the initial hype and has a ways to go but I saw a couple of his HS games this year and he played really well against solid competition. Really dominated, looked a little bit like Eric Bledsoe with his insane natural ability. So I'm not sure rn.
Ray Smith - I saw very little of him in HS and obv he has been out this year with injury. I'm intrigued for sure with some of the things I've read.
Jonathan Jeanne - very inconsistent from what I saw. He is probably my 16th choice on my big board right now but he can easily slide up or down. The actual top 15 coming soon..
Also DX and draft.net have guys like Thomas Bryant and Deyonta Davis in next year's mocks. I haven't heard either of those guys officially say they are coming back. There is only one guy on my big board who is eligible for this years draft because unless I'm 99.9% sure you are coming back I'm putting everyone else on my 2016 Big Board. Unless they announce they staying
