Sound like Meek Mill in a heartbeat.

But seriously, I was on the verge of being a strictly old school Hip Hop fan after a few years of the one hit wonders taking over in the era of 05 to 2009. Then Cole came in and provided hope for the next generation. From there, he did his own thing when cats were caught up with Drake, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and so on. He did it the tried and true way that the greats before him did and now he is eating better than most :blessed: .She showed yall the eat, but if they still content on how things trends are for the past decade or so, then leech on them.

He did it for the regular brehs :to:

If the shoe fits......... :sas2:

And that's the way it's meant to be done. The focus on club music has been hurting the culture. Don't get me wrong, club music is great, I love it and it has its place, but when that's the majority of what's hot... you have a problem. This is exactly why people took to Kendrick so well, he could make bangers AND give you something heartfelt with substance.

Cole isn't boring, he's just regular. And that's his strength, because regular people are the ones paying for ALL of these nikkas' lifestyles. They pay for the Maybach, they pay for the Rolexes, they pay for the bottles they pop off in the club... everything. When you see a man that is just like you and represents you and your voice, why wouldn't you want to support him? And that's why he's successful, even though everyone else told him he'd never be shyt.

nikkas just don't understand that the "regular nikka" is still the most hated figure in mainstream, even after Cole did it. How do these trendy 808s club rappers shyt on the people that PAY for their lifestyles? :heh: WTF shyt is that? On top of that, Cole did it, and just :smugdraper: in silence while the club rapper that want that platinum plaque is :to: at the fact that they can never gain that as long as they stick with their limited paradigm of music.

I wonder how his haters feel with the platinum plaque? I mean the rappers that told him that he is "boring" and shyt like that?

Most of these rappers are jaded and don't have their feet planted firmly. They spend thousands in the strip clubs, buy 10 Lambos and a mansion and wonder why they're going broke. The only time they're connected with the people is if they're doing a show. They're not connected with them in any other way. People give a fukk about that artist/fan connection, it makes the fans feel like they're actually wanted.

I know it's different genres, but look at how One Direction's fans go hard as hell for those dudes. Beliebers too for Justin. Wanna know why they do? Cause the artists communicate with them regularly. They're doing follow sprees, Livestream chats, random contests... even little glimpses into their private lives. Pop artists have this shyt mastered down to a science. The artists make the fans have actual FUN. It's a team effort. Meanwhile you have rappers treating fans like numbers instead of actual people, and then wonder why they don't have the adoration. This is why. So when people were clowning Cole for playing the album at his old house, driving around and buying fans lunch and all of that cool stuff... guess what? It paid off. You don't have to do it, but your fans will love you for it.

Rappers need to learn to connect to people's hearts first, and THEN worry about all that other shyt. Cause without a fan base, you're not going anywhere.

:mindblown: How? In this current era? No hit singles, no special features, how? It's hard to believe.
People underestimate cole's female audience. Everyone thinks drake has the women on lock, cole has a huge female fanbase, and an educated one at that. My friends don't really fukk with rap outside of it being on the radio, but they all cop (purchase) cole's music (Kendrick as well)

True that, I think if you wanna strike up a discussion about Rap with women Kendrick, Drake and J. Cole are safe bets.

:salute: @ Cole going platinum. :wow:

You want a way to please the streets? Make a mixtape full of bangers talking about how you fukked someone else's girl, sold white on the block and how much money you got, toss a bunch of ad-libs in your shyt, slur your words, and add a ton of gunshot sound effects in the beginning of every song, cause that's what real nikkas do. I mean sure, you don't got that much album sales cause the streets don't buy albums... but look at your DatPiff downloads, nikka! You're sure to be eating off of those free download numbers! :krs:

See. This is why those rappers who make shyt for the streets are still in the streets, lol. All flash and no substance. It's great if your music connects with the streets, but if you make it specifically for them... you'll suffer as an artist, cause they only want a certain type of shyt and nothing else. Fan bases > Streets.

pitchforrk writers favorite type hip hop. its why i never fked with pinata. madlib beats give it an "intellectual" angle but its still retrograde drug shyt.

I always found it funny how rappers talk about how they about the money, but don't have the discipline to do those steps listed above to ensure that they have a future with a hardcore fanbase. Thank God for Cole, Kendrick, and even Wale, because they shown the way for the new generation how to make fans a part of their journey.

Cole going platinum is going to cause an uproar from both fans and rival trendy rappers these coming months. People are gonna be studying his way on how he got it done in the upcoming era.

I wouldn't be too sure about Kendrick's status with the women right now though. I feel like his first week sales would have been way higher, but alot of black women were offended by his comments on Ferguson and probably boycotted his shyt. But I do think he can get in good grace with them again if he plays his card right.
