Management
doubront could be nasty if he didn't throw so many pitches
Enjoying the last two weeks
Sweeping the O's would solidify my faith in them regaining the top spot in June.
Yes he should get manager of the year if a team with a 150 million dollar payroll wins 90 games...
Yea im not ready to give him any awards yet but im still neutral on dude. He makes some head scratching moves but I like his attitude overall
We'll see. June is really gonna tell us how good this team is. If they are still at .500 come all star break it could be a wrap
I don't hate on anyone keeping an open mind, I just hate the decisions that were made.
The team collapses because of deep issues.
They fire the best manager this organization has ever had, and smear his reputation on the way out because of a clubhouse that has lost control. In my opinion, trying to cure cancer with Nyquil.
They don't fix the actual issue, in the clubhouse (unless you count eliminating beer, whoop di do).
There are no good candidates for manager.
They end up scrapping a months work of hiring for one guy they have a boner on.
That boner hasn't managed in MLB in 10 years, and in my opinion, it shows.
The cancer still exists
Ortiz is a better manager then Valentine, he is the de facto leader. Ortiz called out the pitchers in that player only meeting. Since that meeting sox are on fire.
Valentine was hired because they wanted him to control the clubhouse. He is there to call out the pitchers and whip them back in order, thats why Francona was fired, he didn't do that stuff. So what is Valentine doing that is so different?
Still early breh. It's obvious that he hasn't gained much rapport with the team. You can see it in their interactions. I'm hoping that changes sooner than later, so he can do like you said.
