2002 wasn't amazing but it's far from the worst year ever. Album wise at least it had Lost Tapes, The Fix, True Meaning, Come Home With Me & Lord Willin'.

2002 was a huge transition in rap, the unit came out of nowhere and blew up off of a bunch of freestyles over other artist beats, state property, the dips, the clipse, dblock was dropping tapes weekly, the mixtape game made a huge transition around this time, I agree with you on the albums though outside of the fix, lord willin, and the lost tapes.
Doctor's advocateEminem by himself put out The Eminem Show and 8 Mile which was huge for hip hop. That's just one artist of many who put out dope shyt that year. If you want to talk about the worst year start with 2006, the birth of ringtone rap
