2002 was the worst year in the history of hiphop.

Might actually got a point :ehh: Damn near every album I thought of was actually from 2001 or 2003, there really was a lack of notable albums in 2002.

That being said there were a handful of good Bay Area releases that year

The Jacka - The Jacka of the Mob Figaz
E-40 - Grit & Grind
Mac Dre - Thizzelle Washington
Messy Marv - Turf Politics
Zion I - Deep Water Slang
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow

That Blackalicious album is an underground classic and Jacka's first album was definitely a local classic.

I was just about ready to dap the original post and then I remembered a good number of those albums you listed dropped. But as a whole, '99 was infested with generic "thug" rappers over horrendous casio swizz sounding beats. :scust:

Throw a doo-rag and a fitted hat on, oversized Iverson jersey, and an iced out crucifix on and you have the '99 equivalent of rainbow haired mumble rappers. '99 mainstream rap was fukking unlistenable.
:aicmon: cats weren't rocking Iverson jerseys in 99 , Cowboy jerseys and Grant Hill jerseys were still getting play
