2006 and 2007 were dope years. When people reference ringtone rap, snap music as definitive of those years, it lets me know they only listened to what was on the radio.

2015, 2010, then 2012. Every other year this decade has been blah with 2014 possibly being the worst year in Hip Hop ever. I can't think of much that was dope from that year. If I had to rank from best to worst.

Yeah bro 2005 things started a downward spiral that would last for quite a while. That stretch from then until the 10's was rough. I remember 2011 being the first year that had a lot of really dope hip-hop in a few years.Eminem by himself put out The Eminem Show and 8 Mile which was huge for hip hop. That's just one artist of many who put out dope shyt that year. If you want to talk about the worst year start with 2006, the birth of ringtone rap

2014 had some dope shyt if you were an indie head. Madlib and Freddie Gibbs dropped the AOTY that year, and there was some other dope shyt. Prodigy, Schoolboy Q, Alchemist & Evidence, Black Milk, Mobb Deep, Monch, Styles P, The Roots, Blu, Krit, Ghostface, Rapsody, Common, Royce & Premier, Skyzoo & Torae all dropped good shyt that year.
For the mainstream is was a pretty average year but as an underground head I wanna say I ate pretty good that year.

I remember that Roots album almost made me give up on them. Common's album was aiight. The rest I haven't listened to.

Fair enough. Just do yourself a favor and check out Pinata by Freddie Gibbs & Madlib. Album of that year IMO and I haven't had a single hip-hop fan I've suggested listen to it that didn't like it.

Just listened to those em songs on the 8Mile OST yesterday, and I was literally
@the fact that the same dude who absolutely murdered those songs flow, lyric & rhyming wise dropped only absolutely unlistenable garbage for the last decade or something
