2002 was the worst year in the history of hiphop.

2014 had some dope shyt if you were an indie head. Madlib and Freddie Gibbs dropped the AOTY that year, and there was some other dope shyt. Prodigy, Schoolboy Q, Alchemist & Evidence, Black Milk, Mobb Deep, Monch, Styles P, The Roots, Blu, Krit, Ghostface, Rapsody, Common, Royce & Premier, Skyzoo & Torae all dropped good shyt that year.

For the mainstream is was a pretty average year but as an underground head I wanna say I ate pretty good that year.

:yeshrug:
Prodigy was 2013. IF you were thinking of Albert Einstein.

I remember that Roots album almost made me give up on them. Common's album was aiight. The rest I haven't listened to.
Common's album was awful. His worst ever. :PPicard:
I'm talking about Nobody's Smiling if i'm fukking up the years
The Roots album was terrible too :PPicard:

Even if u think "mumble rap" sucks...the production is wayyyy better than that cheesy weak ass ringtone/snap production

Even if u think "mumble rap" sucks...the production is wayyyy better than that cheesy weak ass ringtone/snap production. Ringtone era was nursery rhymes over p*ssy ass popcorn beats. At least modern era trap beats can be hard
:usure:Them Snap beats went hard as fukk that was the one thing that was undeniable Soulja especially was making some fire beats with Crank That/Get Silly people just overlook them cause of the content. And there were other successful mainstream rappers/songs during that era that had nothing to do with Snap, Trap music was still going strong and they had these same beats back then so at best comparing beats is a wash. Accept it this era is woat.:scusthov:

:stopitslime:It's Dark And Hell Is Hot and Flesh Of My Flesh were both classic.

The fact you think soulja boy n get silly "go hard" show your opinion is invalid like a muhfucca. Them snap beats were Fisher Price level....p*ssy ass shyt for p*ssy ass niccas

2014 was trash. It might be the worse year because other than J. Cole who dropped at the very end of the year we had no high profile releases. YG probably had best album of the year, modern West Coast classic, DJ Mustard was really killing shyt in these years. Future had "Move That Dope", Honest was alright, he started his ramp up late in the year with Monster and took over the next year. The game bounced back with a STRONG 2015.

Modern NYC street classic :wow:
