I thought the Mcmahon-Helmsley era... kinda sucked

Nah forreal though, Trips was on fire. 2000 was the first year for the WWE where the ring action quality = all storylines' quality

You had HHH at his peak, Angle/Benoit/Jericho putting on classics, dope tag teams (Dudleyz, Hardyz, E&C, Too Cool, APA, NAO, etc), Rocky becoming the face of the WWE :lawd: all PPV's were on point except for WM & KOTR being disappointing

I actually liked the 02-06 heel run more. The utter lack of heat early on, the fried hair, the suits, the long promos, Flair, Evolution, every heel kissing his ass, the reigns, the IWC virgin tears......perfect heel run. :ahh:

never got why micheals was in it. Should have had a DX vs NWO matchs.

was billy gun still around at this point?

the nWo to WWE was a huge disaster... only good thing to come out of it was Hogan vs ______

that was 2002, I believe Billy & Chuck were around, he might've still been "The One" though :yeshrug:

Yeah when HHH was doing what was right for business and being the a$$hole heel he naturally is. If he did that now, I kinda wouldn't mind him being on screen every week :yeshrug:

Probably true, but to be honest, this comparison isn't saying much.

Don't get me wrong--heel Triple H in 2000 was brilliant. Great buildup with Helmsley going over Mick Foley, abusing his authority, and aligning himself with the McMahons, but Triple H's other characterizations and storylines were far inferior. His Reign of Terror was so poorly booked that I stopped watching wrestling for five years.

Triple H's heel run from 2000-2001 was the shyt..I HATED that nikka with a passion! EVERY week i would see his bytch ass with that title...he would spend 20 min in the opening segment just talking the utmost shyt about Rock/Foley/etc..and then by the end of the night he was ALWAYS laying them out with that Pedigree or a sledgehammer and the last shot of the show is ALWAYS Hunter standing tall :pacspit:

He was the compete definition of a heel....If anybody wants to be in the business they need to study Triple H's mic work and the shyt he did...it was Heel 101...

Stephanie was more over when you start to really examine the reactions in the retrospect but in 2000 he was working with the elite of the field...Rock, Jericho, Benoit, a still motivated Rikishi, a returning Austin..he had everything pretty easy that year but it made sense later because that's when he and Stephanie got together in real life early that year.
