It's not about being an "expert on him". It's about what you see happen with him. He held that belt for 9 months heading into 2003. He got the belt back from Goldberg and went into Mania XX with it. He dominated, looked good, never looked weak, had the last word on the mic, and brought the product down to the point that there was a need for a John Cena to be created and pushed to the top. That's his legacy on the business next to being a husband for a McMahon heir that never did any real work in her life to justify her position in the company.

His work in 2000 was good because of who he worked off of..he didn't elevate or make anyone great. He didn't get guys INSTANTLY over on working with them alone like a Benoit did with Rock or anything like that.

Rock owes some of his best matches to HHH. What u on about?

I know you like to think that it was the other way round but most people acknowledge Rock's ring work limitations.

I know you like to think that it was the other way round but most people acknowledge Rock's ring work limitations.

Most people were wrong and supported Cripple H more than they should of have and it almost led to the end of the WWE/F for good. So most people, just like with Justin Beiber and Drake supporters, don't know what they're talking about. Cripple H was just the heel in the matches..he wasn't better. The match was formatted for him to get more offense while Rock had a comeback style and apparently that worked wonders since it generated more reaction than any other star in Attitude Era history. You wouldn't know of Cripple H or care about him to the lengths you do had he not been a Rock opponent..he was a nobody. A chump. A underling. He was beneath Stephanie McMahon as a heel all year. Basically...he was overrated and that was exposed once he stopped working with the Rock and all of his Attitude Era cohorts.

Rock and Cripple H had the best Iron Man match in WWE history but it was Cripple H who was outworked and looked second class, which is the norm. He came out to no reaction and got no sold but the crowd becomes hometown Superbowl hot by anything the Rock did. Crowd psychology. Learn about that.

And who was Benoit before the Rock feud in 2000? A guy who talked tough and came up short. Then he started getting over just because he was a Rock opponent..just like Angle did and anyone who was aside the ring from the Rock. Cripple H never had that effect and that's why even today fans don't respect him. LOL@You Tapped Out chants after a traitor like Lesnar beats you. Yeah...fans truly respect that cat now, do they? The goggles are off with him and the charade of 2000 didn't endure.

I didn't care for his reign of terror myself, didn't like him going over Book at XIX, never really cared for him random Pedigree'ing ppl (though Austin did the same with his Stunner), but it's more nuanced than THAT. The guy gives and he's takes. That Reign of Terror period was a long, long time ago. He's lost to Benoit, tapped to Cena, helped make Batista and Orton, lost to Taker twice in a row and generally been pretty balanced with the exception of NOT putting over Punk in their match.

I'm not arguing that Trips is a saint. As I said (or was trying to), I think some of that hate is warranted. But this seething contempt where people swear he wasn't talented and that Steph made him...stop. You're not there. You're not backstage. I don't think he's the reason that the WWE is in the straits that they are...he brought the product down to that level? I thought it was people leaving/being injured that made that occur. And to hear him speak, and the things that have come out on where he'd like to take the company, I don't think he's quite the villain that he's been made to be.

Look at how long that took. Something that was getting done by others years before. They didn't have insecurity issues or ego problems. They just did it to create interest for their feuds and get guys over without a psychological need to look superior to them.

He lost to Benoit but the show revolved around him. He took his legs from him. Cena was a company push deal...he didn't make Blandy and actually was why Blandy didn't matter again until like 2007 when RVD/Michaels and everyone laid down for him....Batista was what Sheamus is to him today...of course he lost to the Undertaker:laugh:...

Remember when he and Michaels buried the tag division in 2007? Remember that horrible reign in 2008 on Smackdown? That pathetic feud with Sheamus in 2009? That joke of a feud with Vince and Shane that led to a cage match at Summerslam in Toronto? A forgettable WM main event with Cena and Blandy....he's extremely overrated. Came back to take away or hold down Punk or whatever that wack shyt was last year out of the blue. Then they had Punk act like he didn't lose the night before and practically beg Cripple H to be his tag partner against Miz and Truth:laugh: He and Hicknenbottom got booed out in New York over pedrigreeing Hornswoggle:laugh:

I'm not arguing that Trips is a saint. As I said (or was trying to), I think some of that hate is warranted. The hate is warranted because he can't be who he is without factors...Stephanie McMahon was one of those. You think he would of been pushed and mattered this match all of these years had they not been together? He was a ratings loser, merchandise didn't do great without the DX label, can't carry anyone of note, a boring promo giver, etc. Mundane. Boring. That pretty much explains Paul Levasque.

I know that heels work the matches and the face then makes the comeback. So in that case, why were the Rock v HHH matches when Rock was the heel and had to do the most work forgettable?

You do the maths

You wouldn't know of Cripple H or care about him to the lengths you do had he not been a Rock opponent

Talk about yourself breh :stopitslime: I was a HHH mark back then

And if your talking on behalf of the majority, then why do they opinions matter now but not when they support HHH? :lawd:

Rock and Cripple H had the best Iron Man match in WWE history but it was Cripple H who was outworked and looked second class, which is the norm
.

Rock outworked HHH in the iron match? Your dikridin knows no limits :laff:

He came out to no reaction and got no sold but the crowd becomes hometown Superbowl hot by anything the Rock did. Crowd psychology. Learn about that.

That has absolutely nothing to do with ring work . You need to learn what ring work is.

HHH gets props from Austin and Taker for being a ring general breh

And who was Benoit before the Rock feud in 2000? A guy who talked tough and came up short. Then he started getting over just because he was a Rock opponent..just like Angle did and anyone who was aside the ring from the Rock.

You missed what I was trying to say. Benoit was never that over, either as a face or a heel. And fighting against your champ, didnt change that.

Just always right. It's a curse yet it makes your type all so angry. I love it.

You know? You know nothing. The Rock vs Cripple H at Summerslam 98 was a better Ladder Match than anything Hickenbottom can dream of and that was because the Rock carried it from top to bottom. They only react or chant anything in the match on the Rock's offense. Which is per the usual for anything he did his whole run, heel or face.

Talk about yourself breh :stopitslime: I was a HHH mark back then

I know. Your confusion in this thread proves that.

And if your talking on behalf of the majority, then why do they opinions matter now but not when they support HHH? :lawd:

What support? He didn't outdraw the Rock, didn't outpop the Rock, and damn sure didn't mean 1/4 of what the Rock meant in 2000 until like after Backlash 2000 when he FINALLY started getting top heel heat on a weekly basis. Cripple H promos had the Rock in them even when he wasn't feuding with him. LOL. Guy was short sighted and one dimensional. It just got exposed faster when he couldn't spin off of the Rock every week.
.

Rock outworked HHH in the iron match?

Easily. Better leg work, better selling, and kept the crowd in the match. Fans died on Cripple H's parts as usual.

That has absolutely nothing to do with ring work . You need to learn what ring work is.

Actually you do since you think Cripple H was the equal of Benoit or some shyt:laugh:

HHH gets props from Austin and Taker for being a ring general breh

Cripple H got shytted on by Steve Austin outright in a shoot interview in 2003. Taker has nobody else to work with and needs to put his matches over. He's gonna say the company line to sell that shyt.

You missed what I was trying to say. Benoit was never that over, either as a face or a heel. And fighting against your champ, didnt change that.

Sounded pretty fukking over to me at Fully Loaded 2000 with those huge Benoit SUCKS chants taking over the match. Much more over than during that quiet match he had with Cripple H 3 months later at No Mercy.

You need to stop now  I said Im a HHH mark but this right here is the biggest b.s Ive heard. That ladder match was basura compared to HBK's ladder matches and MIB ladder matches.

HBK vs Razor at Wrestlemania 10 set the bench mark

What support?

Most people were wrong and supported Cripple H more than they should of have

:troll:

He didn't outdraw the Rock, didn't outpop the Rock, and damn sure didn't mean 1/4 of what the Rock meant in 2000

Dont get your panties in a bunch breh. No one is saying that HHH outdrew the Rock. Calm the fuk down

until like after Backlash 2000 when he FINALLY started getting top heel heat on a weekly basis

HHH was already getting top heel heat in the early 2000 when he was feuding with Foley:what:

Your acting as though there is some measuring stick which works out whether your getting top heel heat or not
.
.

Easily. Better leg work, better selling, and kept the crowd in the match. Fans died on Cripple H's parts as usual.

Better leg work? what kinda homo shyt is that b? :russ:

Of course he did the better selling, he was taking most of the moves :smugfavre:

Actually you do since you think Cripple H was the equal of Benoit or some shyt:laugh:

So coming out to no reaction from the crowd refers to ring work? Tell me more :skip:

Link to the shoot? Or is the onus on me to search for it

Benoit never had the heat HHH did as a heel

Cripple H doesn't deserve to be appreciated. He's a guy who owes his success to others. Which makes the entire thread a complete sham to start with:laugh:

You need to stop now I said Im a HHH mark but this right here is the biggest b.s Ive heard. That ladder match was basura compared to HBK's ladder matches and MIB ladder matches.

HBK vs Razor at Wrestlemania 10 set the bench mark

WM 10 set the bench mark? Yeah but they had to devalue and make it seem like Michaels carried Razor from front to back all match long in the revisionist history flashbacks. Your little sidekicks in here talking about 'dikk sucking' and all of that yin yang but Vince and his troop damn sure proved that other they fukked over Bret and hyped up that TX homo while discrediting legit workers of that era.

Michaels vs Razor was a spot match. Rock vs Cripple H had a story that went 30 minutes and definitely stole the show at Summerslam 98.

Dont get your panties in a bunch breh. No one is saying that HHH outdrew the Rock. Calm the fuk down

You're the one getting amped up for Cripple H:laugh:

HHH was already getting top heel heat in the early 2000 when he was feuding with Foley

Lie. Dude walked into WM 16 to hilarious silence:laugh:

Your acting as though there is some measuring stick which works out whether your getting top heel heat or not

Of course there is. Let's go back to 1998 after Survivor Series and the Rock does his promo. That's top heel heat. That's legit. Him coming down to huge Rocky SUCKS chants every week all year proved that too. Cripple H never was that over and only was booked to look legit. He wasn't really seen as that until the hype of his return blew up by early 2002 and of course that led to disappointing results.

Of course he did the better selling, he was taking most of the moves

Yep..that proves it. You didn't watch that match.

So coming out to no reaction from the crowd refers to ring work? Tell me more

That's your fantasy. You tell me.

Benoit never had the heat HHH did as a heel

No doubt but he wasn't pushed anywhere NEAR as hard and as unstoppable as Cripple H though. So that's easy to see.

This was more memorable than anything in that Rock vs HHH ladder match

LOL. 6:20 proves MUCH, MUCH different..standing ovation from New York as a heel and they don't have a choice but to chant his name like lemmings. Greatness Knows NO Limits
