98 was the year I got into hip hop and thus Wu. So it will always hold a place close to my heart :dame:

However the music quality during the 1995 run was unbelievable. It’s crazy what they put out from 93-2000

Heavy Mental was great, Cappadonna’s joint was cool but slight disappointment. Suns of Man album was dope as hell. Killarmy first album was instant classic. Crazy.

For me, I really realized that RZA fell off when he dropped Bobby Digital. That song B.O.B.B.Y. Was the first time I really thought he created something that was truly wack. So for me, that was really when I felt he fell off and it really affected the rest of the group since he no longer was really putting in that work on albums anymore. Obviously Ghostface released Supreme Clientele which let us know that Wu-Tang was still dope , even if RZA fell off.

20 yrs later, Bobby Digital In Stereo:fire: was ahead of the game:krs:

...from the FUKKERY:laff: to RZA's unorthodox change in production:huhldup:

Go listen to it now, and hear today's influence:ohhh:

I have that album in the top 5 of my favorite Wu-Tang albums.

1. Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
2. Raekwon OB4CL
3. GZA Liquid Swords
4a & 4b. Ghostface Killah Supreme/Iron Man
5. RZA as Bobby Digital In Stereo

My name should be the first hint I’m a Wu fan.

I didn’t think any of them were classics. 95 was the greatest year from the Wu.

yeah I agree 95 was the greatest, but for them to drop so many stellar albums in one year was impressive and needed to be highlighted.... and as far any of them being classic... that's obviously personal opinion..... KP's "Heavy Mental" seems to be the most widely agreed upon.

95 vs 98 (I agree 95 was better, but support this appreciation of the great 98 run) brings up a very specific point & rift in the Wu-Fam chronology and that is Sunz of Man.

Sunz of Man were the on deck Wu-Fam group and released 4 classic cuts as singles on Wu-Tang Records 95-96

Soldiers of Darkness feat Killa Sin & 9th Prince (4th Disciple) [video]

Five Arch Angels feat Shabazz the Disciple (4th Disciple)

No Love Without Hate (Supreme) [video]

Bloody Choices (4th Disciple)

but the debut didn't come out until 98 and, in the interim, KP got a solo deal that caused a rift in the group and a decreased KP presence in the ultimate release of Sunz debut and had the group basically fall apart after that dropped, mainly due to a rift between KP & Prodigal.

videos:

Shining Star feat EWF & ODB (Wyclef)

The Plan (4th Disciple)

Now the reasons for the rift has been spelled out (KP's done songs about it) so no need to re-hash it, but what's left unknown is, even though we got a solid debut from Sunz (could use more KP, a little less 60 Sec unless he's crooning [his strength], some clunky hooks, etc....) there's all these songs that fell to the wayside. Some were pre-album recording when the group just formed, some were specifically for Last Shall Be First, some overlapped Heavy Mental sessions, etc... but there was some damn good music (including those 4 singles) that never made the debut for whatever reason.

Black Sleeping Beauty (4th Disciple)

Love of Money

The Law (Supreme) [video recorded years later]

As It Was Written (RZA)

Flame Throwerz (2 be an expert) ft. Timbo King & Killa Sin

Bobby digital is also crazy underrated like people said above. Mad classic cuts. Still sounds fresh today which says something.

Recently went into tical 2000 again and its still dope. Cut the skits and trim a lil phat your still left with 14 pure dope songs.

True master and 4th really came into their own from 97 on... STARTING on wu forever but then going into the second gravediggaz album/killarmy which have gems as well and should be brought up for takin us into 98 setting the tone.

It was a crazy good time to be a wu fan thats all ill say.
