Once you look past all the fakkit shyt....early Goldust really was one of the greatest characters in WWE :wow:
i'll never forget his first match.
all through his promo run, he'd stand there and talk with long hair.
his first match starts and the man throws off the wig and storms at his opponent.
i'm like::damn:it's a wig. the fukk??
here is the thing, we would get the events live at around 2 am in the morning over here.
so, just imagine young me seeing this shyt while tired as fukk.
:russell::leon::whoo::huhldup::dwillhuh:
that shyt woke me up real quick

ALL years in the 90's had their high points. In fact, all years period did. 93 - 96 gets dumped on a lot especially, but there is lots of gold in it. Most of it due to Bret, but still. Imagine if Bret were not around the WWF from 92 - 97 and he had taken the 1992 WCW offer he was negotiating for. Damn, that's scary. El Matador main eventing cards and shyt.

Bret, Taker, Razor, and as much as I hate to admit it....HBK

Those four were CRUCIAL to WWE in those years

Was gonna post this anyway but Dustin played the fukk out of that character. Had cats legit wanting to beat his ass over it :mjlol:

:deadmanny: @1:45 of Doc Hendrix

I still think this is when the lightbulb started to flicker for Vince that people wanted a reality based WWE, Hayes yelling "oh shyt" on live tv is still hilarious. Razor's disgust for Goldust the character came across well on TV legit or not

-Diesel's last little run as a tweener/heel is VERY underrated. This run to me is like the prototype Attiude Era character. Breh was fueding with faces and heels at the same time, flipping the bird, he even started nodding to the fact Vince was boss. If he had had this character in 95 he might've actually drew a dime.

Damn right. Not only that, but how they got there was brilliant... the finish to the Bret/Diesel match, and him finally snapping for being such a soft babyface. Both guys came out of it looking great. Quality storytelling, wish they were capable of doing quality shades of grey type characters more often.

Also too, seemed like this era was time when certain things were still a huge deal... like if a wrestler attacked a ref, or an announcer/agent. I remember when Bret shoved Vince, and it was like whoa :whoo:, like shyt went too far kinda thing

Later on, 10 refs could get clubbed and no one would bat an eye.

yea, for the most part, I always liked wwf '96 for what it was - the 3rd best promotion.

and i'd take it over the previous 10 years of the WWE.

problem is, they never followed thru with the hot chit for one reason or another, some it it was out of their hands.

- vader debut
- warrior return
- wwf livewire
- ahmed Johnson I-C title run
- ahmed/Farooq feud with the classic livewire episode

all incomplete.

HBGOAT started the attitude era, as confirmed by the writer of the era, GOATsso

his heel run was :banderas1:

:usure:

vince McMahon was on raw yelling "attitude era" when hbk was still getting booed out of buildings as a struggle-face.

:russell:

that's why those years were forgettable.

keep it 100.

J.R.'s "I have no loyalty to the WWF & let me tell ya why" rant. Before he brought back "Razor & Diesel"n that is.
