And Larry Johnson averaged 12.8ppg, while Houston chipped in with 14.8ppg. Are the Warriors supposed to be afraid of that?

Again, by the time Houston was really a threat Ewing was :flabbynsick: you're basically trying to piece together 2 different teams into 1.
I've tried to tell many people that who tried to shyt on Ewing out in NY. He never really had a legit all-star next to him in his prime, Houston was about 2 years too late.

People get caught up with names, he tried to basically shyt on Draymond, when Draymond is a better player right now than LJ was with the Knicks.

As a Knicks fan I was hype when I found out he was coming to NY. This was before twitter, league pass, Grantland etc. had no idea Grandmama was a thing of the past. He could barely dunk as a Knick.:to:

These guys don't seem to understand that John Starks was a starter on a team that went to the ECF and game 7 of the NBA Finals in the 90s.

He was an all-star people, JOHN STARKS was an all-star. People kept comparing JR Smith to him and I'm like...both played dumb on the court, but JR Smith > John Starks EASY and JR never gets CLOSE to the ASG. Plus I think JR Smith is a better defender, Smith was always underrated on D.

Starks still repped the city hard though

JR never gets close to the ASG?

he was the poster-boy for all-star snubs at one point. certain people just get in their feelings and dont want to vote certain people in.

WHAT? I NEVER heard that when the knicks first signed him.

Either way, JR Smith is an upgraded John Starks and never made an ASG. He would have at the very least been a 2x all-star if he started his career in the late 80's to early 90's

:whoa::ufdup:
We both know Knicks win that series if not for that bs suspension.
:to:

That squad was their best chance to dethrone Jordan.

JR was clearly an all-star 2-3 years ago, but he didnt get voted in - most likely for personal reasons.

and he couldve been an all-star THIS YEAR if they did that trade sooner.

whats so funny about that?

yea the knicks & pacers wouldve took the warriors heart.

half the stuff that steph curry does wouldnt be tolerated by squads like that.

What version of the 90s Knicks had somebody to guard CP3 or Blake?

The only shot those squads would've had was to goon it up and injure Steph.

That's all it seems to come down to, not actually playing ball but just trying to hurt someone.

I asked what kind of strategy teams would use and it's just "They'd fukk him up!"

This is actually a very good thread, the game expands with every decade and they exploit the weaknesses of previous era's. It took nba decades to finally realize that a 3point shot is way better than that inefficient long ass mid ranger. Soviet Union and Yugoslavia used to beat team usa with that 3 point shot unless we talking about dream team squads.

It really sounds funny when people who are stuck in nostalgia 80s 90s keep bragging about physical basketball ignoring the outdated offense. I mean come on Rick Pittino came out there to New York bringing 3 point shooting tactics and they almost beat those Bulls :russ:

im not arguing which era was better. it ultimately comes down to matchups.

i actually enjoy this era more and think that the league is deeper in talent. but alot of these guys dont have that IT or dont have the heart, or theyre too soft or all the above. all of this stuff applies.

CP3 aint never won nothin. and the knicks wouldve butt-raped blake.

half the stuff steph does wouldve been a no-go. he probably wouldnt even try it.

That's basically the logic of those stuck in the past nba fans, they go on youtube find some old school nba fights and consider that a real basketball that would dominate every era.
Talking about the hawks, the 93-94 hawks took the number one seed and 57 wins with mookie blaylock and past his prime nique/ later danny manning as their main players :mjlol: :mjlol:

if its not any trouble, some squads that i want to add to this conversation:
early '90s supersonics
mid '90s supersonics
hornets
warriors
suns
magic
how well do yall think they wouldve faired in the league nowadays. i think these squads wouldve been even better suited for this era.
