that's hyperbole

there were great PGs in the 90s as well

Stock
Zeke (before he retired)
Penny
GP
Kidd
Johnson

are all comparable to
Steph
Russy
Wall
Rose
Lilliard
Parker
etc..

The biggest difference to me was the PGs now are better shooters/scorers (Except wall and rose), and the PG's mentioned 1st are better "pure PGs" and didn't look to score as much as these guys do.

but i'm sure you will just tell me i'm wrong and way off base..
no its not hyperbole, the fact that you had to type "etc" at the end of that post means that there were more.

And Kevin Johnson's era and Penny's couple of years of greatness were not in the same time frame.

Same for Jason Kidd, and Gary Payton to an extent.

KJ's era was Hardaway before the ACL injury, Kenny Anderson, and Mark Price.

The fact you stopped at Parker and just went with "etc" is comical and proves @mastermind point

Because after "etc" we still have Kyrie, Conley, Lawson, Dragic, Lowry and Teague.

I coulda named more PGs in the 90s as well. Like Timmy, Terrel Brandon, Mark Price (Steve nash before steve nash) Kenny Anderson etc...

There's more PG talent today then the 90s, but the quality of the 90s trumps quantity IMO.

Also how many of these PGs today are really SGs masking as point guards?!

Iverson who i didn't mention would fit that bill.

Russy, Rose, Lilliard, Kyrie, Parker, would also fit that bill

Again let me reiterate

Overall talent of PGs today >>> Overall talent of PGs in the 90s

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
35% is good enough to win scoring titles. But who HONESTLY knows if he wouldn't become a more efficient shooter in THIS era. He's one of those players from that 90s era who would fit in lovely in today's game

If 35% is good enough to win scoring titles, why hasn't Curry won any, since he's shooting almost 10% on threes, while taking more of them :mjpls:

He'd have that green light unlike he had in the NBA in his era. He was before his time so he never got the big mins. The year he finally got the big mins the flag incident derailed the rest of that season and his career.

Chef has the 3 inches in height on him but Mahmoud has the quickness and explosiveness. Mahmoud would be perfect for this era. His weaknesses wouldn't get exposed as much in this era plus combo guards are common place now and Westhead/Issel/Bickerstaff are no longer coaches.:lolbron:

He wouldn't have the green light, his absolute best years from three were with the short 3 point line, that really should say everything you need to know about his shot. I don't see how he's any different from Brandon Jennings in this era, and Jennings is a borderline bench player.

Just another overrated dude from the 90s getting the weird bump, he wasn't that good and he wouldn't be any better today.

This season he was; finished 2nd in MVP voting. A lot of people on this very board (wrongly) stating he deserved MVP.

He is probably the best 2 guard in the league today.

and this is why this era is BASURA. james harden being the best 2 guard lets you know how far the league has fallen off.

harden wouldn't be a top 5 SG let along top 5 player in 2003. kobe, t-mac, vince, iverson, and ray allen would all be ahead of him.

:wtf:

He said this is the best PG era, and it is, you just got those 90s glasses on like usual, in your warped viewpoint Curry and Kevin Johnson are close, you are as biased as it gets when it comes to this.

Sure, if the 3 line was at 22 feet, they didn't start taking a shytload of threes until the line was moved in. Robert Horry took 5.5 a game with the short line, he took 1.8 per game during his career outside of that.

Your making the distance a factor where I don't see where it makes a difference. Shooting is shooting...that's like saying this year rockets would suck in 94 bc the range of the three is shorter making it more a midrange shot...and the 2015 Rockets suck at midrange shots..

Last question in this debate...where do you see the 98 Heat or 98 pacers doing in this era...you think they would get washed?

Brooklyn
DeMarcus Cousins? Marc Gasol?

Dwight has declined from age and injury, but defensively he had a really dominant run and he was solid on offense. Far from garbage.
Dwight is still great. He averaged around 19/12 and I think over two blocks per 36 minutes this season.

:wtf:

Bruh, distance is a factor plain and simple, the year before the 3 line was moved in the league average was 270 made 3s on 33%, the first year after the line was moved in the number jumped to 450 made 3s on 36% :dead:

As for your second part, look at the power forwards on those teams, they wouldn't do much of anything in the playoffs.
