I swear I just looked up 3 districts that said they served different parts of fresno.

Now this makes sense. All this time I thought of Fresno as a medium sized town with around 200-300k, including the surrounding counties.It's a decent size. Area has a million people. About 500 to 550k in Fresno. This area is gerrymandered. They split our vote to favor Republicans. I live in the democrat region. Fresno is mostly democrat.

I figured gerrymandering had occurred when just viewing maps of the congressional districts. Theres an inherent pattern, various hick towns linked with different slices of Fresno.

Just realizing I live in a bubble. I mean outside of LA and the bay it's easy to write off other segments of the state.cali is pretty gerrymandered

Guess I'm learning a lot this election cycle. For the most part SoCal districts are drawn out fairly, so i figured the rest of the state was.
If you look at the image below carefully focus in on how gerrymandered Bakersfield, Sacramento and Fresno are. Absolute fukkery at it's finest surrounding these cities in the middle of nowhere
