No man. If you guys still think anything is going to be easy you're simply not living in reality. You realize how hard people had to work just to get 50% of 2018 voters to show up to the polls on Tuesday? We finna take a break until January, but this shyt is going to be HARD. HARD.
Gerrymandering and Voter Suppression....if the Dems don't make this a priority, it's a wrap

You know what, I got real fukking love for my brehs and brehettes in fla, on here and irl, but I just wish the fukking state would go underwater and we can be done with it. That “it’s the way it’s always been, so I don’t ever want it to change” mentality is a Petri dish of hatred, bigotry, and make America great again. Other places had/have some great shot grandfathered in, but also realize that they are the change they want to see and are willing to give up some of that shyt to make way for progress and more equality. You talk like the failure(s) in Fla are not systemic. All the Tri state retirees move down there because of taxes and just as importantly, it’s like the old south, that’s what they are talking about when they say MAGA, these pieces of shyt want to go somewhere with like minded bigots and bask in no taxes for their final days, and it sucks that native Floridians want to fight to make sure nothing changes. Just my opinion.

Stop with the grandstanding and let's have a simple logical conversation.

What state right now has universal free college and are taxing corporation to do so?

I think it's a families responsibility to take care of their kids, not the states and not the corporations . You kinda hit on a few things and while I agree with you about the old people moving down , Texas and Tennessee also don't have personal income taxes and both states are thriving . Nashville has been #1 growth wise for the last decade I believe. So when you're on that trajectory it's makes sense to potentially tax a bit higher and introduce new social welfare concepts. While I think free college is absurd , Id be happy to increase sales tax or property taxes. But to make it into a corporate business issue in a a state that isn't a top economic state in the first place makes no sense.

You try to be moderate but there's too much fiscal irresponsibility coming from progressives and it amounts to having a class president who tells everyone the vending machines will be free so everyone can have free junk food but with no long term vision of how that impacts everyone .

And Hey I could be wrong , free university might somehow pave the way into a new golden era of America but I highly doubt it's. We have free highschool and we are turning out the dumbest generation by far and haven fallen of the world's smartest youth by a good measure. Free college isn't going to change that, you're just going to end up having to lower the bar just to get kids out the free system.

Now I read some other idea that work, where there's higher personal responsibility but again I point to highschools and the failures there that need to be fixed first

And again I'm not for DeSantis, who has no plans are all but Gillum plan makes no damn sense as it written. Maybe it will be polished up before it passes legislation but that's a hope I'm not willing to place my bet on.

its getting real yall....

The funny thing is, no one can officially take office.

We as Americans are In such a rush to declare something, we should have a mandatory 2 week cycle to count the votes.

Also wtf are we using scan trons in 2018.

It cannot be too hard to register and vote from home .

Republicans will do everything in their power to keep voting from ever being a convenience or accessible.

They'd get crushed.

Bro, Democrats aren't doing anything about it either !! That should be the platform someone can run on but neither side wants that ...just like gerrymandering should be illegal. But which ever side that is in power will keep these issues and only complaint when they no longer benefit from it.

republicans have a super duper majority in the state house so even if gillum won most of the things he campaigned on couldn't possibly be fulfilled. but anything desantis wants can be put into law if it's agreeable to the right wing (which more than likely it would be). so even i didn't agree with gillum on some things fiscally that would be a much better outcome than continue republican domination in tally without the possibility of a veto.

you listed all that's wrong with this state, republicans have been in control of all levers of state govt since lawton chiles died in '98.

I mean, I get scan trons to an extent. Electronic voting would be harder to properly secure, and would be easier to hack therefore outside interference would be more likely and a higher risk.

Dems definitely have their benefit largely due to metro areas, especially the ones in states or counties that are surrounded by seas of red. Dems stand on the platform of "not as bad as the right" which isn't anything to brag about. But the fact that half the country supports some of the bullshyt on the right isn't really on Dems, it's the fact that a lot of these people ain't shyt. I'm just trying to stay on the right side of history brehs, I am not a Dem, but I will gladly vote to keep them in power as long as their views line up with mine and I think it benefits people who look like me and not the status quo. I am aware they aren't exempt from corruption (there's plenty of it on both sides), but I don't approach it with a holier than though mindset.

Americans are sucking mad balls right now in not seeing the big picture of things when they come at people voting Dem with this mindset that both parties aren't perfect. shyt like gerrymandering will take a generational push and effort to get rid of, and that is more likely to end with Dems in power than not. You cannot blame Obama for being cock blocked for most if not all of his yrs in office, even though he did come up short in areas I would've liked to see him in excel in. Dems repeatedly call it out, but Republicans constantly call it a myth. Yeah both sides gonna be salty if they lose, but voter suppression is real as fukk, and Republicans ALWAYS fall in line while Dems won't.

2016 proved this even though Hillary won popular vote but lost WHERE it matters. Republicans know more than anyone it's all about location which is why the Southern Strategy was and is still a thing. Yet they will bytch when they get the popular vote and lose just like Dems, even though it doesn't matter in the end, but one thing I'll give them is they play the game WAY better than Dems imo. Mainly because of the apathy.
