What are your long term plans for your career?
Is the first job remote?

If the higher paying job is remote I would go with that one. If not I would go with the lower paying one for mental health purposes

With either option I’m sure I’d quit in less than 5 years. My end goal is to be self employed though with multiple streams of income that don’t take up all of my time, not to climb a corporate ladder nor stay there forever.

It’s different when it’s interfering with your livelihood and source of income. Outside of work you can say/do whatever. Tell people off etc. can’t do that at work and hr is for the company not really for you.

Getting 5 years of experience in a role that pays 175k a year would make it easier to secure a role that pays more than 60k a year.

A role paying 60k a year is not going to open doors to roles that pay more than 100k.

There’s more to life than making lots of money, these days I am more in to my health, sleep and happiness via as minimum stress as possible. I don’t want to be one of those people who worked themselves to an early death or start traveling post retirement.

I’m gonna go with the money…I’ve been the only black person/male at the job on 2 occasions…the “micro aggression” shyt is annoying but only bcuz I can’t cut into these ppl the way I’d like to but I can still nip it in the bud without being unprofessional…I’ve also been in a majority black professional setting…going to work was fun but still there was a little bit of backstabbing that took place due to jealousy, etc. so it wasn’t exactly a utopia…truth be told I don’t think any job really is but the pay can make it worth it lol
