Boxed very well..took some shots but held up better the whole fight. I guess he'll stay in the UK and fight those guys over there instead of doing the Wilder fight.

Just finished watching.

Excellent performance by AJ. Only quibble is that he needs to bring those hands back quicker after he punches.

=====

I don't know what other people are talking about but I didn't think the fight was boring. Both landed eye-catching shots, AJ more so than Ruiz.

=====

The $250 burn wasn't too bad.

So what y’all think about the AJ vs Usyk bout
Most dangerous fight for aj aside from Fury imo

Usyk is technically very intelligent and gifted but I'm still yet to see him tested on an elite heavyweight level.

For aj to win that I actually think he needs to rough house and bully, throw them combos on the inside. He might have to put some of that weight back on imo.

Ruiz blew his first big paycheck like he a cash cow:mjlol:

He still has a couple of things going for him. He is going to make a good payday from this fight. He now has a bigger fan base.

At this point in time, there's some paydays for him. Maybe not the AJ paydays, but he can be matched against some other guys, or easily be preserved and used as an opponent for Wilder. Wilder's always going to need opponents.

But yeah, he needs to take care of his money. He really should invest in his boxing career, now that he has the resources to do so.

He couldn't eat Salmon, because it didn't "feel" right? He wasn't use to being on a clean diet. Maybe you should eat clean, let your body get acclimated to it, and then go into camp mufukka.

These guys never want to be year round athletes. Only want to train during camp.

I like AJ at this size, he's still powerful but fluid. I think just a different strategy will be needed.

Ruiz had a good chance, people can talk about mistakes all they want, capitalizing on mistakes is skill so people can miss me with all of that, AJ boxed very well but Ruiz, on the other hand, was awful. Also why would Ruiz just be looking for a 'payday' when winning would ensure bigger paydays because you know HE was the champion
Because he’s lazy :yeshrug:

I really believe ruiz thought he was going to ko aj or did hearn pay him off:jbhmm::patrice:

His demeanor the entire buildup was this is going to be easy work. Despite getting knocked down, the first AJ fight may have been one of the easier fights of his career. As a result, we have a guy that partied and went on shopping sprees. He may be a nice guy, but dude is an idiot.

Having said that, I don't believe an in shape Ruiz would have won this fight. I just don't view him as a top tier heavyweight. However, I do believe he could have gave a better effort.

Little did him and his camp realize a shot behind the ear was the reason AJ was beatable in the first place. Ruiz fought aj like he expected to just knock him out on some wilder shyt
