lol you found the most objective source there is breh
He promotes Haney’s rival that fights a day later and generally hating on Hearn, always slanders him in the media, what did you expect him to say?
Eddie Hearns heard it and didn’t deny it. Eddie isn’t coy on anything so if it was untrue, he’d voiced it. The following is proof for his statement. It was a response to EH talking about Tank’s fight and discrediting it when Tank’s date was actually announced before Haney’s fight with a different fighter. Stop it, folk.

They had to black out all those empty seats push more people closer. What are you talking about again?

It’s prizefighting. Look at the turnout and it appears Jojo Diaz put all those butts in those seats at that fight. KOs is what makes them into stars initially. Haney got a great deal (overpaid) when DAZN was trying to snatch any notable American they could to break into the American market. Winning isn’t enough to raise someone into superstardom.
Pretty clear why though, not arguing that Haney is some blockbuster star but it’s been normal for a while now that if a fight is in California or Nevada and features a boxer of Mexican heritage or even just a latino fighter from anywhere (see Floyd vs Maidana for example), the crowd will be siding with them. There was nothing strange to me in the crowd supporting Diaz, it was what I expected to happen.

Floyd Mayweather brought his own fans too. Haney likely brought no one. He lives and fights out of Vegas. The people who cared to buy a ticket likely bought it to support Jojo Diaz knowing he was a sizable underdog. We know it was not a “yo le odio so I want to buy a ticket to watch Haney lose”. Stop it, folk.

They got rid of Mayweather Sr way too early. His dad didnt like that Sr was not a yes-man and would call out his bullshyt when he tried to moonlight as a real trainer. Devin should hire someone who has a good record training boxers without KO power. His dad doesnt know shyt he needs to fall all the way back and be a manager like Ellebe.

Yeah Sr. Was a perfect fit fundamentally, had his defensive discipline on 100

I’ll say this, for stretches of rounds Haney was doing some things that were unbelievable.

His offense is very advanced, I saw some things I’ve never seen before and I watch breakdowns. We talk about Boots and the evolution of boxing, Haney shows a bit of that as well. Will have to rewatch.

Jojo has a good chin, has never been down, Linares didn't sell out, stayed responsible with a high guard all night. Not saying that Devin is a big puncher but those are sharp punches he throws, he's just not a heavy-handed fighter but not pillow-fisted either. If someone gonna think shyt is sweet, trying to walk him down recklessly gonna find it out the hard way.

Right jojo said he def has pop, he said the check left hook stunned him made him not gamble without the guard as much. If he didn't have power people would just walk threw his punches like canelo did plant. I do think he should move up though he's draining his power at this point. One more fight if that

DAZN is improving. You can tell they are listening.

I still want camp/life footage though in advance of the fight. It’s criminal for them to deprive the sport of this.

Guys like Haney shouldn’t have those moments vanish in history and have to rely on their own camera crew/own documentaries.

Bring back 40 Days and I’ll be more than satisfied.

I just don’t think we should accept the absolute minimum when it comes to promotion. Constructive criticism is always good and leads to improvement.

This stands as Devin’s best piece, no question.
