Gamboa threw more punches, more jabs AND more power punches than Haney. Survival mode? I mean he WAS cautious but Haney didn't go for what he claimed he wanted enough to support all that shyt he was talking
Can someone link to me where Haney said he was going in for kos, I've seen nothing but the opposite. Someone of yall want him to take massive damage when thats not his style. Biggest criticism this fight for me is the fact that he didn't have a high punch output. Considering he didn't have one competitive round out of all 12 he'll be straight.

Tank will KO this kid.

Well first tanks not going to fight him 2nd haneys length and speed is going to give tank issues. Haneys actually good on his backfoot, he's not going to sit there and trade u got the wrong fighter lol. He's going to go in all these potential fights to box and win on cards.

Gamboa’s toughness notwithstanding, Haney hopes he can knock out Gamboa faster than Davis was able to end their fight.

“It would be a statement,” Haney said. “It would show how much of a force that I am. But it’s about going in there, still being smart and not taking punches, trying to get him out of there. If it is a knockout, I want a pretty knockout. I want it to be well set up.”
Devin Haney: Gervonta Davis Definitely Underestimated Gamboa

“I don’t just want to win, I want to win in spectacular fashion,” said Haney. “I want to beat Gamboa worse than anyone has to date. I want to show him that I am the best fighter in the world and better than anyone he’s ever faced.

“I have to make a statement. The eyes of the boxing world are all on me again. They’ve heard me talk the talk and now it’s time to walk the walk.

“The belts are important to me; I want to win as many of them as I can. I am willing to fight any of the top guys, I don’t want to skip any of them out or say, ‘I like this guy over that guy’, because I want the fights that the fans want to see the most. It’s important to defend by title, look good doing it and hunt the rest of the division after that.

“Everything is falling into place and the Lightweight division is lighting up. I have to handle business with Gamboa first, take care of him and then the sky is the limit. There are so many big fights out there, everyone is opening up and 2021 can be huge if I win this fight and make a statement.”

This quote literally proves what he did

You wanted him to take on punches to get a knockout :gucci:. If I'm his trainer I'm fine with this fight exactly what you want if you don't get a knockout. Work on improving workrate.

He said the same on pug and copp earlier this week :gucci:

" a knockout would be great, but I'm not the type of fighter that like to go in there and take punishment.... you know take punches to get a one shot punch. Even though as you know that's what all the fans would remember kind of like this past Saturday( tank fight). Its not in me to go in there to take punishment just to get a knockout out. Would i love a knockout ? Of course! If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen "
