At age 34, I think Wilder becoming a better "boxer" would only hurt him. He's already beating better boxers. Deontay is beating chess players by playing checkers. This is one of those times where it's better to just keep shyt simple. I think making any major changes to his arsenal would only distract him. Dude is on some zen shyt in the ring now. His whole gameplan is to sit back and let his opponents walk that tight rope until they slip up. They gotta pitch a perfect game. Meanwhile deontay is just chillin....studying their movements waiting for the perfect time to strike. It's fukkin genius when you think about it. He's putting all the pressure on his opponents.

Deontay was most definitely down 6-0, but he didn't look like a fighter who was getting outclassed. He never looked frustrated. He looked calm and relaxed. Like he knew his time was coming. And boom. Ortiz makes his first mistake and it's a wrap. People keep saying deontay's power bails him out, but he's definitely methodical in his approach. Deontay may not be great technically, but he's a very smart fighter. What he lacks in skill he makes up for in ring IQ. Every time he's getting outboxed he always finds a way. His style is unorthodox but it actually works in his favor. He's a nightmare for these technical guys. I say he just focuses on shortening up his punches and keeping his offense compact. He's already shown a lot of improvement in this area. A lot of these knockouts are coming off beautifully placed punches. I barely even seen that punch last night. shyt completely caught ortiz off guard. And that's credit to deontay's intelligence.

A KO IS THE ONLY WAY YOURE GONNA BEAT WILDER.

Or you can out box him and pull a fury, minus the fury knockdowns.

The thing is Wilder is so crude, that you don't notice he actually is employing some very good skill and strategy.
His crudeness fools people, to Wilder's benefit.

The way he came out early in the 7th and threw the left hook to the body of ortiz, and then started throwing it heavy to his head and shoulders, then pulled it and threw the straight right is strategically smart, but no one will talk about how he smartly setup that right, they'll just attribute it to Ortiz losing focus or "blowing it" which is great for Deontay, because people continue to strangely underestimate him.

Lol @ King Kong

Said whatever Heavyweight think I'm too old come see me
He’s still going to get sucked, he won’t fight a name until Dubois, Hrgovic or Ajagba is ready, none of that fringe contenders want smoke they just want a title, to get Knocked out, then go fight a bunch of bums and get another big money fight. People praise Whyte but he didn’t want to fight Pulev or Ortiz for a guaranteed shot at the title.

Loma is ukranian
Usyk is ukranian

Who are the russian successes outside of Kovalev?

On top of that, you act like Cubans can just go pro, they can't. They have to defect to even get that opportunity.
That said the skill level is evident when you look at the Casamayor, Rigondeaux, Gamboa, Lara, Perez, and Ortiz. Cubans have tremendous fundamental skills.

Don't go down this road Pat. LOL
Beterbiev and Ukraine is the same school

No they aren't.

Beterviev, Kovalev, and Korobov russian school fight nothing like

Lomachenko's dad trained fighters in the Ukraine.

Russian fighters are hyper traditional standard up right european style.

There is more movement and flexibility in the Loma/Usyk "ukranian" style.
