I’m trippin that people were still watching after AJ and Free left.
The show ended to me once they came on crying, saying it was the last episode.

I'm tripping over the fact that people think 106 was done once AJ & Free left. People saw this coming. There was the time Free was interviewing Kanye when he was dropping the "Jesus Walks" video and she asked him about cartoons. There was the time she got Kanye's Late Registration album mixed up with another artist. What sealed the deal was Free's guest spot on "Whisper Song" remix and that King magazine spread. Then AJ was crying while announcing his and Free's exit while he talked to her over the phone.

Actually BET got sold to Viacom in 2001 and 106 & Park was a result of that. It was made to be a Black TRL.

When it was in DC and Black owned with Teen Summit and Rap City on location was when it was really Black.

I'm aware. I said completely black-owned.

BET still had minority black ownership after Bob cashed out, but just not a controlling stake. After they sold the company, BET's value dropped crazily. People stopped adding it to their cable packages and the remaining black shareholders all sold and dipped over the years.

I also so how the end of 106 also marked the huge decline in the BET Awards and the BET Hip Hop Awards. All the stars stopped showing up and I think 2013 was the last time where it seemed like EVERYBODY attended.

Also, we don't get artists like Miguel, Melanie Fiona or Elle Varner where 106 really broke them as artists. Keyshia Cole is another artist I feel 106 broke. Where would B2K be without 106?

I miss when Big Tigger used to rap in the booth….

He sounds better than most rappers nowadays.

On a another note, I liked Terrance and Rocsi.

They had me laughing as a kid at times.

I hated what they did to Rap City after Tigger. They brought Tigger to 106 and he hosted with Julissa from The Center for months before Terrence and Rocsi became hosts. Tigger and Julissa were dope hosts too.

Tigger stayed with a job at BET…

I kinda stopped watching after 2008..

I was mad as hell that they canceled Rap City back in 2008 too.

A nikka was upset as hell when it ended..

By then, I said I’m gonna watch the rap channel on Music Choice to get my Hip Hop in
