by 2006 anything interesting on cable would be on youtube the next day

I’m trippin that people were still watching after AJ and Free left.
The show ended to me once they came on crying, saying it was the last episode.

That era of music TV was the last of what kept the culture in check.

Once BET was sold and stopped being completely black-owned, it was over. That's when everything switched over to their interpretation of the culture and not ours. Ain't been the same since.

Actually BET got sold to Viacom in 2001 and 106 & Park was a result of that. It was made to be a Black TRL.

When it was in DC and Black owned with Teen Summit and Rap City on location was when it was really Black.
