Anytime you say black on black crime is among the biggest issue we face on here you get called a cac or c00n so :yeshrug:

Honestly, I think it’s hard to have healthy conversations about black issues on an Internet forum. One, cause online, people tend to get way more disrespectful, whereas the conversation would be civil in real life. Then, with people known to troll, and misrepresent their race, it’s a level of paranoia that may come in and people start calling each other cacs. And to to be fair, people do be trolling and faking black.

Me personally, my post are a little unbalanced on here cause, I won’t hesitate to post some pro black or militant shyt. But I never really wanna criticize my people too much or harshly cause I don’t want white people or any non black people to be privy to those criticisms really. And I don’t mind people who don’t share my philosophy, that’s just my personal choice. In real life, when speaking to black people I know, our conversations have much more depth. I gotta play it safe online though.

A guess the main thing is it's easier to target the people that need to be targeted and prevent more violence nowadays than it was back then.

I think they should do a social media campaign and focus more on the fact that a dude that shoots a nikka over a beef is gonna feel foolish as hell 20 years in the future and the breh is doing life.

I mean you could get dudes to understand that if you shoot a nikka who looks at your girl will get you a jail sentence and she will have a new Boyfriend either way. They need to tell kids that random "beef" doesn't have to end in someone dead and another kid doing 50 years.

Unpopular opinion but there is a conversation to be had about the 100 Black Men in certain cities that are more concerned about being gate keepers than they are about creating for our people. I know in Chicago, this is a huge problem that I’ve conversed with a couple brothas that are a part of the 100 Black Men. And the problem seems to be centralized around the older age members, not the ones that are younger.

I agree with the sentiment and effort....but let's be honest this is more preaching to the choir/virtue signalling than anything. So WS is not our only problem...what else is new?

There is nothing wrong with mentioning or critiquing the high homicide rate and its effect on us. But I have seen this stuff since the 1980s and have yet to see how it has improved any of the factors leading up to this. Typically, this "let's have a difficult conversation" line is a prelude to castigating certain Blacks to get it together and serving up moral platitudes that never reach the intended audience. It would be great if moral shaming was effective but the community and family structure in many of these areas have weakened the social pressure of those kind of methods.

The people who care about "losing the race" aren't pulling the triggers so if you really want to change things you need to affect that group. Sure I believe a few people may see this and reconsider their life but are we really putting our faith in PSAs?

If they want to affect the homicide rate, mentoring these kids in youth gangs, doing programs to help ex-cons find work, supporting at-risk children missing school due to COVID, and a dozen other things are probably more effective. Don't get me wrong 100 Black Men does great things and many community service actions like this nationally but I see that focus as essential.

All this right here. And just my opinion but I feel like the most effective ads/billboards are ones that act as a compass for the community and not as a mirror of the community. Advertising positive things like job vacancies, mentoring help, support groups, positive after-school or weekend sports and community events and physical/mental health assistance for at-risk community members would make a far greater impact than literally magnifying the negative things.

Waste of money. Is this really going to target the main perpetrators? Again, wasting money when those resources could be better spent. Just as dumb and posturing as marching. Just as pointless as domestic abuse billboard campaigns.
