i honestly thought that the whole "this is a narrative on the war on terror" is a bunch of fake-deep praise :dead:

Might be blasphemous but I actually like the dark knight rises more than dark knight

A bad guy who's just a bad guy for the hell of it shows up out of nowhere and just starts blowing shyt up.

Sounds familiar. Where have I seen that before..

Like 90% of comic related material

I like the movie and all but Joker is not some clever piece of writing. He's insane and just does anything at any time. For no reason

You really don’t think there’s anything remotely clever or interesting about that movie? That it has nothing deeper to say about the world in 2008?

Infinity war is dope. But just as a movie it’s dependent on another movie. It’s one half of a story. Dark knight is a full story on its own. Self contained. Beginning middle and end.

Explain. I’m curious

Not saying it's garbage it's still a great film, but I think Heath dying upped it alot more in people's mind.

Rises was better visually to me, broken and battered Batman rising back to the top. The plane scene and the football scence were excellent and jaw dropping the first times I saw it.

Just my take like I said could be perceived as blasphemous

I think everything up to him fighting Bane is dope. After that the movie falls off a cliff and Nolan disobeys his own internal logic

so above all else, would you argue that this joker's ULTIMATE motive is to get batman to kill?

above ruling gotham? above turning gotham into an anarchist paradise?

I don't think it was to get him to kill.. as much as it was get him to act illegally and be just as corrupt to get what he wanted.. and pretty much take the law in his own hands

Yup he wanted to show that everyone is corrupitable. Every single person. And even Batman could be corrupted

I think Hardy's Bane is one of the illest movie villains ever for the first half of the movie.

Once he takes over the city the movie almost becomes Batman Forever/Robin level stupid tho, like @MartyMcFly said. I didn't mind the Robin origin tho (although the "I could see it in your eyes" was cheap).

My issue with the robin thing is it’s just cheap like you said. If you’re going to do robin then do robin. Don’t try to have it both ways. It’s the same way I feel about Zendaya and MJ. If you want to make her Mary Jane Watson then make her Mary Jane Watson. Don’t do the cheap shyt at the end to evoke something that’s not really there

It is :yeshrug:

BP got close though :yeshrug:

Black Panther beats it as a film, only because Dark Knight had just a couple borderline cringeworthy scenes trying to hold true to its "comic book roots." Whereas Black Panther was almost flawless from beginning to end.

I'd have to watch Winter Soldier a couple more times before I can put it on the same pedestal as those two. Logan almost feels like its own category, the filmmaking/feel was amazing but the plot and message were lacking compared to the top two. I don't think any of the other Avengers films were even close to the level of Black Panther and Winter Soldier, to me the first Avengers is way overrated and Civil War was disappointing.

I think BP needed just one of three possible things for it be the GOAT.

Either it needed Winter Soldier level action, Infinity War level CGI or a Denzel in Training Day type performance as Killmonger.

Thats how close it was to surpassing TDK.

I thought MBJ was very good. However, he needed to be all time great to give that character the type of reverence it needed. The thing that makes TDK so great and memorable is that Ledger's character was

If they kept the action grounded at the very end and it was WInter Soldier level in the 3rd act.... I would have considered it GOAT.

Or if the CGI they tried was Infinity War level....it would have been the GOAT.

BP is better than dark knight?

:gucci:

Killmonger is better villian the joker?

:what:

BP got way too many people talking reckless. Reminds me of the bloggers on Twitter claiming RDJ deserved a Oscar for Civil War :mjlol::beli: They're doing the same shyt for Brolin/Thanos & MBJ/Killmonger :heh:.

Joker on screen was unpredictable and you actually felt it. You never knew what he was going to do when he was on screen.

Also needs a third act on the level of dark knight. it's third act is good but it's not holding a candle to the last bits with batman, dent, and gordon
