I was showing my youngest daughter where the water was on her grandparents old house when we were driving in the neighborhood last weekend.
shyt was over the over the roof. I remember driving though the city once it was open and it was a ghost town. Water lines on the roof was just wild to see. Crazy ass times. City still fukked up in a lot of places. i actually hit a come up. I had 3 properties get flooded and there was a program that gave a forgivable mortgage if I renovated and rented it out to program participants. The mortgage was canceled after ten years. I've had those properties free and clear since 2018.

Same thing happened in Georgia. If one of them tried to crack jokes, we'd call them a refugee

shyt crazy that this happened almost 20 yrs ago.

I was reading about Hurricane Camille (1969) recently, and it was said that Camilled killed more people the 2nd time around (Katrina) because so many people weathered the storm back in the day smh

I lived in BR at the time and Katrina was honestly just a drawn out inconvenience for us compared to NO. Some downed trees and power lines, a lot of extra traffic due to the evacuees from NO. I volunteered at the SU mini dome helping evacuees and the stories they told were WILD.
